Alcock steals the ball 6m out from the Force line, but Reds get a penalty in front for offside.

Reds just keeping it in the forwards. I don't think that will change all night, their tight five getting over the Force is their main hope of winning.

Turner kicks the goal. 3 - 0 Reds after 15 minutes.

Force lineout overthrown, Genia steals. Force set piece looking a little wobbly.

Force rucked over but went right off their feet.

Another penalty Reds, 39m out right in front.

Reckon Thomson looks a step slower than he did in his pomp with his run out wide just before.

Turner kicks it, Reds up 6 - 0 after 17 minutes.

6-0 Reds, if these teams were racehorses you'd be swabbing them both.

^^^^^^^^ reckon Thomson may be slower due to the extra drag from that fuckin awful haircut.

Now the Reds give away two penalties, one for not rolling and then another for offside during the advantage. Force to kick for goal 20m from touch, 25m out.

It's a soaking wet pitch from the Cyclone. It's going to be a tight, sloppy affair.

Ebersohn kicks it, 6 - 3 to the Reds after 21 minutes.

Reds game plan seems to be keep it in the forwards, then bomb to a contestable kick, and it's working so far.

Force knock on on their 22. Reds unable to do anything with the advantage as Genia can't find any fowards and sits on the ball all day.

Reds second shove drives the Force back a few metres, but Schatz lets the ball go out in a mess, but he cleans up.

Reds finally go to Kerevi, who steps and beats a couple. Thomson knocks on off a Genia dart, but the Force were offside.

Reds, from 10m out, go to touch. 5m lineout.

That was dumb from the Force prop, didn't look to be onside and stuck his arm out to slap down the ball. Should have just tackled Genia.

Reds go to touch for a 5m lineout. I reckon they should have taken a scrum as the Force already have a reserve front rower on.

Mafi on for Coleman, who is injured.

Force get over the ball and get a penalty. Reds lacking a pod.

Horwill coming off with a hand injury, Murday must be coming on.

No, Horwill to the blood bin, McDuling on. Good to see him back.

BTW, it was dumb dumb dumb not taking a scrum. Bad decision from Slipper.

YC Force. Why wouldn't you take the scrum? Force either have to pack down a man short & you can make a mess of them, or put their blind-side wing into the scrum which gives you a perfect lefto (even tho in this case it'd be a righto).

Genia seems to be passing directly from ground like back in the day rather than taking that half step that's crept in over the last little while. Still taking too long to clear it directly from ground, but he's making progress at least.

Force winning the game of force backs at the moment.

Ebersohn finding turf will his kicks.
