It was a good game to watch, apart from the last second idiocy. Some enterprising play from both sides, and a couple of really sweet tries, especially from the Reds.
I thought Va'alu tried pretty hard - just not quite there is he? Effort was Ok though I thought. Ioane gave everything a go. MMM looked more effective this week.

Very good game to watch even though we lost, we definitely need Morahan to step up as Hynes can't do it all on his own.

McLinden has gone off the boil a bit but he is still dangerous although he did have a mungo brain snap in the last play of the game.

The game was ours for the taking just a bit more patience in attack & we would have won just look at the 1st & 3rd highlanders tries once they got into our 22. That's when we need to be patient rather than just going wide.

MMM & Horwill carved up especially MMM who is so much better in the tight when winds up & drops his head on attack the try why just brutal.

Daley has been good but we had forgotten how good Greg Holmes is I thought we won the scrum battle yesterday.

Barnes & Ione were brilliant again, Cooper lifted when it looked like the game was gone & Hynes is just all class.

Genia back next week but credit to Mckibbon he was very good.

I thought Va'aulu was OK - not great, but solid. Hynes was superb at the small stuff - winning a few kickoff recoveries, for instance. You forget all the 1% things he does right around the park.

Vaalu is a 'safe' option and probably offers more defensively than the rookies at this stage. I reckon Morahan might be close though. It was good to see Hynes back but I was disappointed in a few of his kicks, they seemed pointless and badly directed. Definitely a better side with him there though.

I have been impressed with McKibben but it will be good to get Genia back.

McLinden's decision at the end of the game was a stinker!

Much better effort from the forwards this week as well.

Yeah he should have bombed away rather than chipping but he was probably shattered after a 3 week lay off.

The try from Berkhuis in the first half was a clear case of obstruction. Thompson cleared a path for him to go over from the breakdown. This was probably a get square tho for the try scored by Dagg a minute earlier, which Joubert called back because, quote "the player ran into me". A tad misleading, as it was actually Joubert who reached out and touched Dagg in a reflex action of self defence.

Very unlucky Reds, but maintain the rage and it will come.

I had no real problems with the Highlanders tries even the 2nd try I thought Higginbotham could have put a better shot on him.

The MMM try was a beauty, he powered straight through both Highlanders locks.
