Reds v Chiefs 4th April

Christy implies it's Wallabies rest, but it also sounds like Les Kiss is well onboard with it (not at all surprising for the likely incoming wallabies coach).
Sounds like most of the comments from Kiss in that interview are in reference to Daugunu (how good has he been by the way)?

Christie is doing his best to loop in Lynagh without actually saying it

Yeah, Christy's speculation doesn't really help things, though I get the impression that he was told the "max 6 weeks" thing at the start of the season and is now also scrambling for detail on what's actually happening.

On the Daugunu front, I get the impression he's getting an exemption with Flook, Henry and Goldsbrough all still out, but going into the week he and Blyth were the two I expected to need rests (based on the 6 game rule).

I guess we'll know (a bit) more in a few hours when the teams are relelased.

If Lynagh is out I hope he does, we don't want to be relying on Werchon as the backup. I guess it's a question of where the coaches think he's at. Campbell is the other potential 10 cover, he did play there last year against Tonga when O'Connor was concussed.

Lynagh doesn’t need a rest surely? He hasn’t played six in a row. Wouldn’t he want to be tested against the best 10 in the competition and try and win the game? Don’t get it. One minute all Reds supporters are calling for him to start as Wallaby 10 after some good games and now he needs a rest against the best team in the competition. Ridiculous.

There could be an argument that getting bopped in and around the noggin weekly would qualify him for another spell

Well I thought he would have been stood down for the Force game possibly after his late hit in previous game. Obviously he was ok though. Going in without your best 10 to a top of the table clash seems stupid.

No, I agree - hence riot threats. Just trying to get in the head of Kiss

Jock occasionally gets a run at 10 when he plays club for UQ as well.

Generally I’m okay with player resting and rotation - both for player welfare manangement a to build depth.

But I would have thought it would be pretty straight forward to pick Lynagh and Daugunu for the next two games. Hopefully the speculation in this article is wrong.

Surely, he could be managed by coming off the bench? Granted he could have to come on earlier than expected but seems a better balance than missing a big game. And the Reds get a bye after the Brumbies anyways if I'm not mistake.
Isn't one of the big things with rest week they don't train? So pehaps not want to play them?
