Massive size advantage to the Brumbies in the backlines...

Hope our blokes have been practising their tackling this week.

Good to see Davies back out on the wing.

I can't recall him playing there for Easts. Morahan played there alot for University last year, but then again his nickname is turnstile for a reason.

I like this kid already... Some of those pills had that (Brumbies flyhalf) loop about them.... Looks to be a good organiser too. Not to mention that hoof of his.

He looks to be a much better option than Dallan, ha ha.

Brumbies by 30+ I think.

Vaea at 7 tells me that the Brumbies have identified the Reds weakness in the backs, so they're going to show up and do their best to beat the living shit out of the Reds pack. Hooper is on the bench to come on about 50-60mins in, and open the game up. The Reds may be in touch at half time, but I think this is going to be like the Bulls games. Mogg, Tomane and Speight are going to see a lot of ball towards the end of the game.

Brumbies have the scrum, lineout is even, backrow even, but the Brumbies have it in the backline, easily. If they pulverise the Reds forwards, then it will just be open season I think, due to the fitness the Brumbies squad have got.

Hope he hasn't lost that nice passing game. Will be good to see how he goes.

I have an uncomfortable feeling about the fact that the reds have their 7th backline named for this season.

Suppose it comes down to confidence and feeling comfortable within the group - hope he grabs his opportunity with both hands

It would seem that as the Coach and Management team your damned if you do and damned if you don't. Seven backs are injured (including Hynes), with four of them being 5/8 options. Murphy has been tried in three games and unfortunately for him he has not adequately delivered. I don't think Link loses anything by giving Lane a chance to step up. The fact that it is the 7th backline named this season is unavoidable IMO.

At the end of the day though it is the forwards who hold the key.If the Reds forwards can turn things around and get some momentum we might be surprised by what the backs can do with a bit more time and front foot ball. Not an easy task against what looks like a solid Brumbies pack, but not impossible.

Sam's defence is good. Sam Lane, Michael Hooper and Tom Kingston played together in Juniors for Manly reps early 2000's for several years. Will be great to see Sam and Michael playing S15 on Friday night!

30+!

Anything less than 100+ is a moral victory for the Reds! At least, that's how I plan to approach the game......

I enjoyed watching the Lane highlights, he seems to have a lot of time on the ball. I just hope the Brumbies move in slow motion.

Looked like elton flatley in that headgear when running the ball.

I dont think Lane is going to make much difference. The backline is a thrown together group of players who dont really know each other's games, and the Reds pack are going to have a very, very hard night against this Brumbies pack. I haven't seen an Aussie forward pack at any level work so cohesively, and so purposefully together since the Waratahs crushed the Reds at the beginning of last year.

If the Reds pack don't at the very least gain parity, they're going to get slaughtered.

I feel sorry for the poor bloke really. He went to Nudgee and was never very good at school, playing 2nd XV in year 12.

That reminds me of Matt Henjak, although Henjak went to Eddies. I don't feel sorry for Henjak though, that is probably the key difference there. But I digress..

We really, REALLY need a solid platform tomorrow night. Ball and ruck security is paramount.

I'm with RH though, I'm just going to get on the piss and enjoy the ride.

Bloke, we get it. You think the Brumbies are the duck's plums. That's great, we all love our teams.
Just turn it down from 11 would you?

It seems like like the brumbies are going to keep it tight and try and bash the reds forwards into submission. Links selections seem to indicate he is going to attack a wider channel and recycle through faster loose forwards.

Whites is a high percentage play. Link is far from it when you consider how poor their handling has been.

Its annoying when supporters from another team rabble on wildly isn't it? Us Brumbies fans dealt with is last year, now its your turn. Come up with an intelligent retort, or go postal at me and call me a c*nt, but please avoid the 'wounded fan' angle.

I was merely stating my opinion of the coming game, and the way that I think it will pan out, based on the team selections.
