Reds v Brumbies Rd 9 Sat 12th April @ Suncorp 7.35pm AEST

Agree it was a disappointing night for mcdermott in particular. He is outstanding as a 30 minute injection but his core skills are still not up to starting for the wallabies.

The 10 jersey is far less cut and dried. Noah was better tonight but its still a lottery.
Yeah he had a pack going forward. Plus when in doubt just give it to bobby V. God he was devastating. I look forward to him steamrolling lions players!

I mean if the shoe is on the other foot Noah gets caned for not being able to change the momentum, but it wasn't easy for Lynagh last night I agree.

Yeah I agree he gets slammed either way. But that has always been the knock on him. Would love for him to have some different gears. I thought he had a decent game but it was pretty obvious pretty quickly that brumbs just had to play tight.

Well done Brumbies. On the field just too good. Forwards dominated and, as is always the case, there was only going to be one result from there. To do it with the early lose of Ikitau and relatively low level of influence from Tom Wright even more impressive. Nice to see Lolesio stand up. I actually thought Lynagh was pretty decent but definitely seemed impacted by the Brumbies pumping him physically. By comparison Lolesio had an arm chair ride but he still has to put it together and I thought he was very good.

Not sure what to make of some of the comments on here. On the one hand Australian rugby needs some strong rivalry and winners are definitely grinners so bask in it I guess. Good to see there are still passionate supporters out there.

On the other hand - some of you Brumbies fans seem to be carrying enormous chips on your shoulders. I feel like we should pay a few of you rent. What’s a matter Griffins??? Did a Qlder kill one of your cats??? Weren’t we all worshipping at the temple of the All Mighty Bwumby enough for you in pre-season?? For a team who is apparently the stand out success of Australian rugby some of the Brumbies supporters seem incredibly insecure.

Enjoy it boys. Something positive to tell your therapist. :)

I think there are genuinely a small, but vocal, number of fans from all franchises who would happily see all other Aussie teams getting pumped week-in, week-out by Kiwi teams as long as their team won. Then bitch if players from any of these teams make the Wallabies squad, because, you know, players of any team in the lower half of the table must all suck. It's weird.
As I said, a small number.

Agree 100%.

I’m just always surprised the number of posters who appear to take the view of those couple of supporters and extrapolate it across all of that’s teams fans. Honestly I reckon the majority of Qld fans have been guilty of no more than cautious optimism when it comes to our outlook this year. Are we guilty of thinking we have a better chance than last year - 100%. But that’s about it from what I’ve seen aside from a couple of individuals. There also seems to be a disproportionate push back on any comments about Les Kiss getting the coaching job - even though, as has been stated numerous times, but apparently never read by some - most Qld fans don’t want to lose him from the Reds.

In any case my comment is mostly tongue in cheek. And I will also confess a little bit of hitting back in the only way I could - because I sure as hell couldn’t throw any chat about the result. And I do think we’d benefit from a bit more spice in Aussie rugby. We’ve had it tough for so long it’s almost like we can’t have a crack at each other sometimes.

So, on that note, bring it Brumbies fans - you bunch of precious cry babies :)

I hate cats but it was a satisfying win. I'm comfortable that nothing I said was any less rational than what would have come the other way had the result been reversed. As others have pointed out, Brums fresh vs the Reds off 8 straight games or whatever it was played a big part, the return game should be a cracker.
