Reds v Brumbies Rd 9 Sat 12th April @ Suncorp 7.35pm AEST

Reds lucky to beat Force twice and now downed by the mighty Brums. That is all.
Reds and Brums are both decent sides. I think we’re realising slower than other years that the Aus sides might not be that close to the top NZ sides regardless of ladder position. And yes that’s considering the Tahs Win over the Chiefs.

Gotta be shattering for the Reds. At home, got out to a 14/0 lead and then seemed aimless. 2 tries from kicks as well. Tahs taking a game off the Chiefs game them a chance really bolt a spot down up in the top 2 and potentially host through finals.

Hopefully a massive wakeup call to the overhyped reds. Brums show again that their best is very hard to beat but especially with Ikitau off early that is a game that the reds should have won if their fans were to be believed. Both sides will have to be better if they are to challenge at the business end though.

Valetini massive for the brums and a big tick for Noah and especially Lonergan for game management.

Speaking as a Reds fan yes as a general rule I do want my team to win the rugby games they play in.

More related to your commentary about the teams clear superiority in Australia. Brums have not been consistent to be fair but the Reds are not the side theyve been built up to be.
Huh? I’ve never said anything of the sort.

Edit: sorry I understand you meant Reds fans in general. Eh, there’s always a few silly fans for any team. I wouldn’t read too much into it.

Yep definitely meant fans in general not you. It must be a very disappointing result for a lot of people that would have been very vocal on here if the result had been reversed though.

Feel like the Brumbies won it through dominance at the breakdown, always seemed like they were quicker and more effective. As a ref who quite clearly takes the craft very seriously, I’ll doubt he’ll be sleeping well tonight.

Probably an indication of a team that’s been constantly chopping and changing. The burn couldn’t have come at a better time! Be nice to get a dry game for a change.

AAA , Lolo, Bobby V, Hooper, Lonergan, Pollard all out playing there opposite number.

Bobby V MOM.but could have been any of them
The playmakers had a much better night for the Brumbies.

It was nice to see Lonergan have such an assured game. He's always had a nicer pass than Tate and it was well highlighted tonight, there were some real shockers which Lynagh had to clean up/deal with on the Red's side. (And I like Tate, but it is a consistent weak point of his game the inconsistency of his pass quality).

Lolesio likewise had a few nice moments whilst not overplaying things. Things like the deft kick through for Muirhead was well considered and executed.

Thomas gets the muppet of the night award with his quick tap, run into my own player knock on into the referee moment.

Agree it was a disappointing night for mcdermott in particular. He is outstanding as a 30 minute injection but his core skills are still not up to starting for the wallabies.

The 10 jersey is far less cut and dried. Noah was better tonight but its still a lottery.

The Brumbies physically bullied the Reds as the game went on.

Ffs Ryan Lonergan counter rucked Canham off the ball at one stage and Uru had his flattest game at the same time as McReight. Asiata, Brial had a dig as did Bryant when he got on but others didn’t show up.

Don’t think the outs would have changed the result with how flat they seemed to be.

Looked like a side needing the Bye. They’re in a good spot for the run home which isn’t the hardest. Blues and Hurricanes at home then Drua away, Brums away and Tahs away. I’ll back them to go 3/5. 4/5 could get them a top 2 spot still.

Gee it looks pretty hard to me. Which are the 3 gimmes? They all look pretty tough to me.
