Just about last chance saloon for the bird-brained Blues to make the top 6

McReight might be under a bit of pressure for the Wallabies 7 jersey. He would be in the 23, of course, but Tizzano's defence might be useful against the big Loins inside backs.

McReight’s defence is pretty spot on as well.

Tizzano is having a cracking season but, unless he’s injured, I just don’t see how you possibly leave McReight out. And, sadly for Tizzano, that probably means he misses the 23.

Obvious to a Reds supporter? McReight and Carlo are both great. Carlo is in better form.
Fatprop is as dyed in the wool Tahs as they come. Just because someone has a different view doesn’t mean people should assume that view is based on bias. We all have our favourites but most on here watch a hell of a lot of rugby and are able to form objective opinions.

I know he can speak for himself but I expect FP’s point is that McReight was one of the Wallabies best last year and no successful test coach lightly pushes aside proven test performers.

Tizzano is doing everything that can be asked of him and good luck to him, but I think Schmidt will stick with McReight. I can see some appeal in a 6-2 bench with Gleeson & McReight coming off the bench to finish but I think it’s more likely one of McReight & Tizzano get to start and the other is very unlucky to be outside the 23.

Tizzano is going great. If McReight is not feeling the heat, he should be. I'd still be calling McReight for the 15, but my first name is not Joe, and I am a Reds fan.

Anyway - this debate belongs on the Wallabies thread - although I get that there was context to the initial post.

Reds are in danger of losing their momentum and really need this win to stay in touch with the leaders. Sadly rain is once again forecast. We need to muscle up on the Blues pack. I wouldn’t mind seeing Blyth recalled to start.

I genuinely imagine McReight is more or less 100% focused on his role at the Reds.

From memory all bar one of the Force games has been in the rain. And a lot of them have been bucketing. I’m actually at the point where I wonder if the rain might be an advantage for us (although the last two games probably suggests otherwise). Terrible for crowds in any case.

McReight I’m tipping will respond with improved form but he has been quiet. Admittedly returning from an injury. He’s just normally in everything and a great link player in the open too. Time to show the Blues that they are yesterday’s Comp winners!
