Thoughts?

Good to see the Reds providing their own TV pieces for their fans. It needs to be to better edited, though. Way too long for the amount of info contained (should be cut by at least by half, 2 mins max per story - otherwise zzzz.).

Presenter was good. Soundtrack was annoying (funeral music?

) when played over the top of commentary.

Video quality was good for the web.

Mate they're not going for an Oscar.
I love it. Yes the music is a bit annoying. But I love that they are making an effort to keep in contact with their fan base. Lets face it unless you're a reds fan it's not really that interesting.

I find it pretty interesting (as much for the editing and shooting techniques) and I think it's pretty good for a weekly web-based vid. God know that stuff takes an absolute shitload of effort for the final product you get.

As for the players in the sheds thing - that's just weird

Nah players in the shed thing is alright - better then just flashing a team list up, plus it helps give the 'lesser known' players some face time - fans will be able to recognise more than Will, DK, Quade and Digby one day.

Note to Tahs players - who I'm sure read everything to do with the Reds...Bring back Tah Talk! Far and away one of the best ways to connect people to a team. Less effort than video work, and more insightful.

Even as a Reds supporter I think that I am going to get sick of the '1,2,3,Red' chant. Other than that think it is great. Anything that gets better contact and communication between the team and the supporters has to be good for the Reds and rugby in general.

The Tahs do have TahTV and they do run some interviews on them but yeah it isn't a good as Tah Talk was.

Tah Talk dropped off the radar when Djuro Sen left the Tahs administration. He current provides a similar podcast which covers local and international rugby at www.ruggamatrix.com.

If the Tahs own the intellectual property in connection with Tah Talk, it would be great to see it back in some form.

Yes, after listening to Ruggamatrix for a while, I realised the main reason I listened to Tah Talk was to learn more about the players, the coaches, how the team worked, the strageies, that kind of thing. Lost that when Djuro left the Tahs. Link is of course very interesting to listen to, though.

I would prefer it if they showed club rugby on ABC than spent money on this. Biggest improvement from last week is no Peter Hynes. He's not much of a commentator and couldn't have been more disinterested in his talk with Will Genia.

considering its also sponsored by Foxsports, I can't imagine they are spending to much money on it.. The biggest cost would be the capital outlay of editing software and camera equipment..

All that stuff is done in house at the QRU. I am guessing the cost is very low. I'm probably being a bit harsh on the show. It's only early and they have already shown that they are making changes.
