I agree I thought the game speed was good and the rule changes definitely played a part.

I do hope we are wary about implementing them on a trial basis at Super Rugby though.

I feel like the ruck speed rule is one which a lot of international teams might take issue with up North and would be hard to get it over the line. There is a fine line between showcasing the new rules but also then setting our players up for failure when those rules aren’t used in test matches. Might not be the best idea before a RWC.

I actually think the advantage rule changes are good to keep trialling because they are situational and even if it isn't taken up (which unfortunately is the likely outcome) the net effect on the teams going back to the old rule won't be too different. Just keep playing with advantage.

Things like changes in the ruck speed which alter the pace of the game, fitness levels, game tactics etc will having a much bigger effect on players going back to the old rules.

I'd have Anderson as the 7, the 20 could be Wallis though I'm not sure they'll go with both next year so it might make more sense to look at a bigger body. I'm not sure anyone really stands out though.

The last question there is around props/hookers - I wouldn't be surprised if they left Blake at home to bring Dobbins instead, or run Asiata at hooker and look at another option at prop.

Nah still injured, was down at the challenger game on Sunday. I'm assuming he won't be fit for this as they didn't name him in the challenger series squad (which they did for Flook who is just about ready to go).

Wilson , think the open spots might come down to who can go. Would imagine that not all would be in a position to go if asked. Wallis has been contracted so likely to be available. Agree would have Anderson there, but not sure what he does for a day job.

Tom Milosevic and Alex Smit were the other two 7/20’s from the weekend. Connor Pritchard and Conor Mitchell would be another two possibilities maybe? Either that or take Nic Baker from the Academy.

Kai Oats gets my vote for the vacant wing spot.

Good on him, I think he has potential to be a strong super rugby player. I think he is one who missed out on the NRC pathways, would have demonstrated his value there.

Not sure the purpose of the stats but it’s pretty irrelevant given plenty of QPR players are away with Australia A at the moment and quite a few have also been given train and trial contracts with other Super Rugby clubs.

The most important aspect of those club breakdowns is that every qpr club is represented

Yeah agree Reg , Grealy has played a little 13 for UQ but not any 12 that I'm aware of. He is not really your "second playmaker" type fullback that can often slot into 10/12, more of a ball runner/finisher. Will be interesting to see how he handles the position.

Good to see Anderson get a crack at 7 and Pritchard a start for the President's XV. Both these guys have had very good QPR seasons and are genuine lineout options.

Interested to see how Lynagh goes , thought Creighton was great last week, hopefully Tom has a blinder and we start gaining confidence in our 10 stocks.

Some clubs that will have players committed elsewhere ( ie Reds) might have vacancies in their roster

I'm a broken record but I think he can really nail down that 13 spot for the Reds. It's a shame he was injured last year, or I reckon he would have got the nod for the Aussie A side, as their centre combos have been one of the weaker aspects.

Will be interesting to see Tayler Adams as well, he's on the radar for a Super Rugby contract. I don't he's played 10 for a while though, played pretty much all the second round of QPR at fullback.

REALLY hoping we get to see these two side by side and injury free. I like the look of both of them.

Has Henry got the build to play as a hard running 12? He looks compact and strong enough.
