Reds 2021

Mac’s an exciting prospect and his highlights reel is impressive, but would learn a lot from another season in QPR.

Has all the skills , needs match time to develop an all round game.

I remember listening to Peter Hynes talk back in the day, and the most important point he remembers been given to him at a schoolboy level was to carry the ball in two hands. As a fullback this keeps the opposition defence in two minds about whether you're going to kick it or run it, if you tuck the ball under one arm then the defence knows you're going to run it.

Mac Grealy often sticks the ball under his wing and runs it, stuff like that should/could be ironed out in the QPR.

Liam Wright must be close to a recall - wearing wallaby training kit since they didn’t pack enough Reds kit with them

He is developing this skill and agree was mostly a ball runner who looked for opportunities for himself .

Towards the back end of the QPR season last year he was creating opportunities for those outside of him . Kai Oates scored a few tries off Mac attracting defenders and offloading.

Training drills help these skills , but executing under game conditions trumps that .

This is a bit like David Hookes describing NSW Cricketers "When they get their Baggy Blue NSW Cap they also get a Baggy Green in a brown paper bag" Must be the same for the Reds to get Wallaby Gold.

I was tempted to post the photos in the Wallabies thread just to watch the galahs flap about

Has anyone considered Stewart potentially playing 13? He's played really well at 13 in the NRC.

I have always wanted him at 15, I even predicted him being in the Wallaby 15 by the end of 2020.

I think he would be an awesome 15 who could do it all, but now would not move Campbell as I think he has proven himself.

I have a feeling that Stewart will regret his behaviour that led to him being dropped

Stewart's go to strength that sets him apart for a back is his jackle and ruck work. 15 would not give him the chance to use his greatest asset.

I don't mind the idea of 13 as they don't seem to want to use his second playmaker ability anymore.

@Reg He played 13 in the NRC a few games, not a whole lot, but he has.

Has anyone actually seen confirmation of BPA going? There was speculation like last year, but I've not seen anything since?

To replace BPA? Not bad he should be cheaper after latest incident, I'd prefer to keep BPA though.

I can't imagine Thorn will be willing to sign a bloke who has two serious drunk driving charges. The bloke needs to go to Rehab before setting foot back on a Rugby field. He clearly has issues with alcohol.

I agree with Reg, he hasn't played 13. Stewart started at 10 for every single Qld Country match in 2017 and 2018 except one, round 9 2017 vs Perth where he started at 12. He started at 12 in every single match in 2019.

I don't see why he would come into consideration at 13 for the Reds unless both Petaia and Paisami are injured.

maybe as a 2nd half replacement?

in 2019 he played 12 every game with Patty James, Dan Boardman, CFS playing 13.
In 2018 he played mainly 10 with Petaia, Tony Hunt and CFS playing 13.
In 2017 he played 12 and 10 with the likes of CFS & Perese playing 13
