Michael Wood seemed to have suffered another injury playing for Brothers yesterday, he can’t take a break that fella ...

Looking on instagram, the lads are in tremendous condition. We actually looked like a well conditioned, professional rugby team.

75% of this team are either still with the Reds or playing QPR. That is really good to see. To be honest my major fear of the NRC was that the exposure of some of the younger talent in a 'semi-professional' environment would open up more opportunity for them to be snaked from QLD, rather than stay and hone their talents.

EDIT: I guess my fears are slightly on the money, the guys who are no longer in QLD all ended up overseas at some stage since 2018 to now - Timu, Paia'aua, Hockings, Lucas, Ma'afu (since returned to OZ), the only exception really being Slipper and we know the situation there.

Yeh I think the coaches all came from QPR teams in 2018 - can't remember who coached who but Heenan and Sieb were involved.

13 CFS
12 Paia'aua

Another team full of blokes who've stuck around - good to see. Shows the guys who poo poo Thorny saying players don't like him a different story.

Is Tai Ford the roid rocket who got busted a few years ago? He's the only name I don't really know.

Of interest to me was the backline, 6 of the 7 starters are the same ones who started last weekend. Only difference been Paia’aua and JOC (James O'Connor)

Wonder how Paia'aua is going, forgot about him. Pretty handy player.

From memory, did his knee in one of his first games for Toulon and spent the rest of the season in rehab. This season should be his first back from injury but COVID screwed the Top14 season.

Anyone who thinks the Reds are run with even a modicum of precision that the Broncos are, are having a genuine laugh.

I think Bobby blocked me after I disagreed with this comment earlier this year, however interesting to see how the two teams seasons finished up, Broncos have most likely wrapped up the wooden spoon after the Bulldogs win on Friday night. Hopefully the Reds win a trophy as well.

All the money, facilities and media coverage doesn’t make up for a poor attitude and culture.

I know it’s fashionable at the moment to talk about a huge improvement in this team however ... 2018 and 2019 were 6 wins from 16. 2020 it’s 7 from 16.
The stats suggest otherwise.

(And also, lets not kid ourselves that SRA wins are equivalent of wins in the old Super Rugby.)

Wasn’t it 8 wins and a draw from 17? There has been clear improvement in the team.

Pre corona they were 2 wins and 5 losses
SRAU 5 wins 1 draw and 2 losses
SRAU finals 1 win and 1 loss

That’s 2.5 more wins
