Reds 2019

I'm sure there are enough blokes in 1st grade and coming through the development channels. No need to start looking elsewhere or paying $ for old journeymen.

I'm pretty sure the Reds have already given contracts to every half decent kid coming through the development ranks. Hardy, Eadie, Campbell, Lucas, Wilson, Luka, Blyth, Mcreight, Maafu etc. Any deeper and we will be a legit U20 team.

“Apart from Scott Higginbotham, the starting forward pack all played Queensland U20s with each other.
They’ve all worked and grown together since then. It goes to show the strength and importance of the Queensland pathway."

Not sure about the 'Qld pathway' when it comes to Lukhan S-L as he's a NSW import who played Shute Shield for Randwick and got selected for Australian U20s from there then moved to Qld for a pro contract - that's not a Qld pathway. Tupou is similar, imported from NZ into the Reds development.

Strange flex.

The real take away is this.

Thorn was given the u20s, and they won the comp.

He then took those boys to the QLD country side, and they won the comp.

That same side is now the starting pack for the Reds.

So in effect, this is his team, the same players he first got his hands on in QLD and that same group have come through the professional QLD pathway in parallel to the head coach.

Well Thorn can stop whinning about how he has to build the corporate culture because his team is so new. If they all played in U 20s together and Higgers is about 97 now, then they should have some history and the Reds can start winning.;)

Not resting Kerevi for this game is bizarre. Means they are going to have to do it for one of 4 very winnable home games, or against or inter-conferance rivals, or against the chiefs.

This is the least visible, and least winnable game they have left

Your club relies on QLD more than anyone, calm your farm. Is this your first winning season in history?
