Let just say the name SAM CORDINGLY. The most overpaid, unprofessional, dictator who has been running the QRU recruitment process for years. Is more protected than the Koalas in Queensland. FFS why the QRU keep him ,nobody knows.

Why does anyone keep any management person in 'Strayan rugby.

What doesn’t help is the incessantly poor decision making by those running the game in this country. FP don’t blame those who are criticising the shit decisions, blame those who are making the shit decisions. It’s about time they are held accountable for their actions, sitting back and pretending nothing is wrong is accepting this mismanagement.

Strangely enough, I am both excited for a new 10 showing promise, AND critical of this debacle. I'd add to my earlier statement - where a fan disagrees with the Thorn decision to cut Quade, EVEN THOUGH Thorn is entitled to direct the team's future, and EVEN IF there were no other factors (timing, commerce) - a fan is still entitled to voice that opinion on a rugby opinion site. Just like - I don't agree with Scrubber's assessment of Quade. Not in the slightest. But I'm comfortable hearing his thoughts. And I'm comfortable that two dedicated Reds fans have differing views on the matter. That's not going to make me shut up about it though.

So here is a much bigger "bemoaning". SANZAAR continue to completely cluster f the draw. 2 home games in the first 2 months is just unacceptable in any sporting competition. Last season this scheduling completely screwed a very promising Bulls squad with much greater depth than the 2018 Reds and a HC in Nollis with considerably more experience than Thorn. Nollis is back in "reserve grade" (think he is coaching u21 again). Thorn is on a hiding to nothing with this.

The battle of Brisbane 2 is on next week - do we know who the undercards are??

Maybe Quade's just absent from training as he's getting ready for a fight??

(Here's hoping anyway)

Also do we know who would have leaked the conversation to the courier mail?

With no official response I'm not sure if this being out benefits anyone other than the old theory of any news is better than no news & hype building for next season....

You do realise that the rugby team was in maroon long before the league team and that the Red colour has only been around for about seven years.

and didn't the Wallabies wear blue at one stage? History does not have to be continued, I love the simplicity of a full red uniform and dont really care for the history to be honest, it is purely what I find attractive to the eve and to match the name of the team.

is it due to clashes with commonwealth games?

Yes part of the reason is due to clashes with the commonwealth games, all codes have been asked to avoid SEQ during the period 4-15 April.. so that explains 2 weeks on the road... but the extra 2 weeks away plus the bye are certainly poorly timed and structured..

I see Stewart has been named in the Junior Wallabies squad. Surely he won’t be involved as he’ll be playing every game for the Reds.

Good to see Jason Gilmore get the head coaching gig.

Quade thing starting to quieten down already.

No doubt will become topical once the season starts and performances of the new inexperienced 10 are put under the microscope.

The comparisons between a very experienced 10 (who hasn't played well) and a newbie will be extensive...

No it isn't. You're living in fairyland if you think there's not a shit tonne of pent up anger around this issue.

I will be reminding Brad loudly and clearly all season of this call if it goes tits up and telling him what he can do.

It rhymes with chuck off.

If this/Stewart goes moderately well and Quade is Offloaded freeing up some of the cash (not all), the 436 comments here will be forgotten.

Brad didn't sign Quade and Frisby. It's not his fault they aren't in his plans. He spent a season with Tuttle Stewart and dp... I trust he knows they are capable.

Yeah, but just one injury totally stuffs that, particularly at 10 & 12. That means some level of back-up has to be recruited and integrated into the team. Only other alternative is Kerevi to 12 and that means starvation for 13 & 14.

The talk could be non-existent immediately but it won’t stop possibly 2 more years of commercial pain for QRU and ARU. Long repercussions.

As usual Quade has kept his peace which is a courtesy not replicated. There are necessary steps that would be unusual to not make the media. The chatter is hardly over.

I think Thor at 12 Should be considered......

Injuries play an important part of the success or failure of all Super teams.

If Slipper, Thor, Higgers. Smith, Hunt, Kerevi, Duncan, Douglas and Tuttle all go down we are fucked as well. I don't think we have adequate coverage for many of them.

The limiting of injuries to key players is always on a hope and a prayer.

It’s an awful lot of pressure for Stewart to be placed under, leaving him as the only 5/8 and primary playmaker in the squad, he is still 19 and could still play U20s in 2018.

Paia’aua may have to fill in as starting 5/8, which would be a shame because his attributes are better suited to 12, not 5/8.

Quade to be the highest paid club rugby player in the country, this will do well for the Reds and ARU ‘saving’ some money:

There has been deafening silence from Cooper’s camp since the news broke over the weekend, but sources suggest the playmaker will simply turn out for Souths in Queensland’s Premier Rugby competition and collect his massive pay cheque.

There have been rumours Cooper could head overseas to Japan or even pursue a career in the NRL, but it now emerges that club rugby is the likely destination for him in 2018.

Yet it remains bizarre that Cooper has been told to train away from the rest of the Reds squad when by all accounts, there has been no cultural issues or personality clashes with Thorn.
