All I can say is that like the ARU my personal confidence in the QRU is at an all time low. Which makes something of record of constant increasing disappointment.

So how do we solve that? Are they turfing Stiles to be seen doing something? Christ I thought TT would be enough for that.
Things are just seriously weird. City selections against Thorn coached Country is another shot in the foot. Yes I saw the injuries/ Cooper etc, but not a good look.
Each step I make trying reinvigorate my Soup interest simply leaves me wishing well for Twiggy.

There is probably better appointments but I have little faith in Stiles next season. Mooney as attack coach I like. McGahan has shown nothing as an assistant or head coach in Aus that leads me to think his appointment will add much value.
So not entirely happy but don't see it as a shocker either. Expectations for next season are quite low anyway we go.
Just shows how rubbish the state of the game is in this country that all the recent HC appointments have been the promotion of assistants with the exception of Wessels. And look at how well this is working out for us. Heaven forbid we bring in anybody new with experience that may question a few things. Best we give them an assistant gig first and promote someone that has shown they can follow the party line. Fuck I'm over it and hope the Rebels have the kahunas to take a different path.

I can't see us being different in 2018 I have to say no matter the coach and that pisses me off.
The Reds really look like they are not owning their complete shitness.
They sent out that email yesterday about membership and apologising for fucking that up this year and promising to do better. I sent an email and tried calling a few times today to talk to them about the lack of full silver membership in the pdf they sent. I could not get through and have not had my messages returned.
Now they could have been rushed off their feet with overwhelming interest, but it is not a good start.

Thorns appointment will show the NRC is working well.
He has shown you can move from being in the playing ranks of the NRC to coach in Super Rugby in just a couple of years.
Hope he does well but I think he will struggle due to not having a club that actually spends money on best possible staff and players and refers locals or mates to get jobs.

OK chaps, so the Reds have discontinued the old silver memberships (seats behind the posts). My son and I have been sitting in the same seats since 2008 or 2009 directly behind the sticks at the Milton road end, he's 12 now so you can imagine the first couple of years were a trial taking a 3/4 year old to the reds but we got through it.
Early on we'd normally get the family package and either my one of my brothers or a mate would come along and bring their son - until the Reds started playing shite and I could no longer give the tickets away (I was very popular in 2011, not so much since then). At this point we changed to the Adult/Junior combo deal, really reasonable prices for what I always consider the best seats in the house (behind the sticks). They no longer do these packages as they do for Gold, Ruby and Platinum.
It is confusing this year; what they have is either the Redzone Memberships at the Caxton Street end for $265 for the adult/junior combo deal or Family memberships at the Milton Road (2 adults, 2 kids) for $531. I can get a separate adult and a junior membership at the Milton road end and presumably get my normal seats but it costs $320 (the kids get a clinic included in the price but my son is almost the biggest nerd you'll meet and he'd never go).
Tis a small thing I know - first world issues and all that and there are more important priorities - climate change, #VOTEYES and all that, but it just seems a little needlessly convoluted this year - I mean, its not like the ground will be packed next year.
My son and I are very different people, he is not into sport at all (maths and computer games are his jam) however he has always enjoyed the atmosphere and all the food I ply him with. It is something he will come and do with me and enjoy, I'll leave the membership for now and hope that it is sorted before the season starts.

If the Reds sign Brad Thorn as coach. I promise you all I will be getting season tickets.

I believe Stiles is a sure thing. He will be a better coach in 2018.

I'm not supporting Stiles, He lost me when he publicly threw Ready/Frisby under the bus. How are the other players suppose to feel when he can't take ownership of the losses? I don't think the locker room respects him (albeit i wouldn't have a clue if this true only just a gut feeling) If Stiles the coach in 2018 I'm gonna be like every other armchair critic that deserted the Reds in mass numbers after the horrible Richard Graham appointment and keep voting with my wallet until household changes are made (and this is the best household change option on the table as i'm sure they are still paying off Richard Graham/John Connolley and god knows who else due to their incompetency they just can't afford to do an extensive far and wide search for the next heir apparent so give the reigns to Thorn.

Scrubber. I'm sure your well versed on Stiles coaching tree, Where his been and what his done. But the average punter on the street would say "Who TF is Nick Stiles" 2017 was the year when all the talent returned home and he was even gift wrapped the greatest openside flanker Australia has ever produced in George Smith. What exactly does Stiles have to show for it? nothing!!! It's time to move on from him (in my opinion) Brad Thorn is a household name who the fair-weather rugby fan will keep an eye on with great interest. This lateral move is the best option we have both from a financial standpoint and taking a punt on lifting ourselves off the bottom of the scrap heap which is Australian Rugby. Just my 2 cents. Like I said. Here's my credit card Herston! I'm ready to renew and get behind this move.

so you want a head coach (with no coaching credentials) but with a good public profile? Just like when the QRU sacked Mark McBain (the last coach before Link to get the Reds to the finals) because they wanted a coach with media profile to match Wayne Bennet and Leigh Matthews so they appointed Ch 9 newscaster Andrew Slack.
Make up your mind mate. Was it because of the treatment or his one year record?
