Koroibete is a great signing for the Rebels I'll grant you that. Well done to all who made that happen. To be fair though I thought Nabuli was solid performer for the Reds this year and generally pretty consistent. With an NRC under his belt I think he'll get significantly better next year actually, like Hunt did. What worries me is that we are kind of relying on CFS pulling his finger out and Hunt staying injury free at fullback. Personally I think the outside back we pick up really needs to be a right wing/fullback type with a great boot. Preferably one that's been around a bit. We're a little light on experience and kicking out wide. I thought Jesse Mogg might have been a great option but apparently he's signed again for Montpellier

thats exactly the sort of playing we need HT. I would love the Badger but only if it was in addition to the profile of play your mentioned, not instead of.

I want our starting team available all season, a season without injuries and I think we make the finals.

That being said I would like to see Perese get some time on the park, my memories of him in the NRC are quite good, he looked like a keeper.

Nabuli was one of the few guys who I thought consistantly tried to support the line breaks. I wouldn't say his work off the ball was outstanding, but given it was his first year back in rugby, I thought it was pretty good. He seems to me the sort of player, like Rod Davis was, who could build a good understanding with Cooper to both players benefit.

His running technique is what impressed me the most, his balance and strength in contact was very impressive, as good as I've seen from a player of that age for many years.

well the good news its a 3 year deal so you shouldn't have to worry about that for a while

Am happy to have Quade back (hopefully), particularly because we are so deficient at 10.

But wow he's a lucky son of a gun in many ways in that the Reds and Rebels NEED the services of a quality 10.

Objectively he has not consistently played well at any level since 2011. He was let go at the reds. He failed to shine at Sevens. Toulon were happy to let him go. The bloke is made of Teflon .

AND he will still command/demand big money AND get it.

Cannot wait for him to put pen to paper and thereafter returning to form.
More than anything else we need a 10

The Reds just need to insert a clause into the contract that he must start boxing again, last time that improved his performance on the field ;)

Funny - that career really went the distance.

Having said that the bloke got $200K to belt up some poor bloke. Seemed pretty smart I reckon.

He was injured in 2012-14 so his impact at the Reds dropped away. I think the Sevens call is pretty harsh. If you compare him to the regular sevens players he wasn't outstanding but for a guy in his first tournament he had a good impact. The timing was never going to allow it to happen.
As for Toulon that signing never made sense. His style didn't suit what they wanted, the upside was he had some good, not great, games at 15.

The Reds need him more than he needs them so his price was always going to be high, but I still think it will be good. More people will go to games as he's on the field.

I disagree Scrubber. I have found nothing wrong with his form and you repeating it continuously hasn't convinced me. I think he's had to deal with coaches that haven't understood him and tried to make him into something he's not.
I hope Stiles doesn't make him defend in the line and lets him off the leash.

Might be a bit harsh but reality.

Agree about bums on seats, particularly if he is back to his best and the Reds win some early games.

If they lose, whether QC (Quade Cooper) is back or not the crowds will be similar to this year.

Anyway we are finals bound in 2017

Understand your point Sully and don't necessarily disagree with a lot of iyour post. I'm not trying to convince you. Some people just cannot see fault at all in certain players. That's OK by me.

The facts just speak for themselves, irrespective of the whys.

Moving forward, under Stiles, QC (Quade Cooper) can play his own game and return (IMO) to being a very good rugby player. I hope it is so.

This is a fun watch. Mostly just a biopic but possibly some lessons from a side that turned things around in spectacular fashion after appointing a domestic coach.

Cooper is lucky??

Anyone suggesting he is not in the top 2 tens in Aus is speaking out there ass. He improves every side in that position except the Waratahs. I am quite confident that he is better than Jono Lance and Jack D. Some may argue the Brumbies don't need him but if I was a supporter I'd be happier with him at 10 and Lilo 12 than any other combo they can put together next year.

Scrubber just makes me go <sigh>.

4918, QC (Quade Cooper) wasnt lucky coming back from injury to find his WB jersy had been supplanted by a lessor player. He wasnt lucky ending st the Reds with the shocking way he was treated . He wasnt lucky to be shackled by Dingo and then RG as coaches incapable of getting the best out of him. He wasnt lucky with injuries since 2013(ish).

But to be fair, he is lucky to be looking to a return having proven very little in France or 7's (neither particularly his direct issue) and to find a Reds team that has proven incapable of finding or developing a half way workmanlike 10.

And, once signed, we are lucky he is coming home.

@Reg, thanks for the update, I was hoping it was just paperwork/negotiations slowing things. Sure will be happy when its done.
