If only we hadn't missed 2003. A nice acknowledgement from the Reds.

Merry Christmas Reds supporters.

Pretty stoked, got a Reds Jersey from Santa!

I am a little disappointing that I bought my Daughters kids membership in a QLD Reds Christmas promotion as well as a members cap but it did not arrive for Christmas Day. I even ordered the membership on the day the promotion started.

Oh well, being Christmas I am sure a beer will soothe the disappointment.

I spoke to the Reds today and they said my "Christmas Membership" should arrive by the 18th of January. If it has not arrived then call them.

I was charged for the membership and members hat on 9/12/2015!

The membership count is at 14891 as of this afternoon with hope of 52000 members for this season.

We are a long way from that number.

Thank LB saves me a phone call. Long as I have the card before the first game so I can get in to Suncorp. They'll need to perform trickery to get to 52k like any registered school player is a member or some shit.

Lee Grant

John Eales (66)
I like Huston and from all reports he's been doing well in the UK.

He's being playing OK in games I have seen this season but he doesn't have the impact in contact that one would hope for from a bloke of his size; still skilful though.

Finally, some positive news for Reds supporters, with the prediction yesterday that James Slipper will be returning earlier than originally thought.
He is hoping to be back playing in the first half of the Super Rugby season.

"I'm training hard and the goal is obviously to come back stronger, healthier, and fitter".

Are there any sharp eyed Reds fans who are able to pick out some of these signatures and make a guess for which year it's from?

Is that Tom McVerry 2nd column, 4th from the bottom?

Wiki tells me he played for the reds in 2001 & 2002 which matches a lot of the other big names that are easier to spot.

Don't think it's 1991, pretty certain I can see Nathan Sharpe and Toutai Kefu's signatures.

And the fourth signature down on the left column looks like it says Mark Chisholm - who according to wiki was at the Reds in 2002 but didn't play a game. So I'm guessing it's from 2002

Reckon you're right - because there's no John Eales as far as I can tell.

Jacob Raulini at the top left Also John Roe, Damian Smith, Rudi Vedalago, . 2002 fits

Also has Elton Flatley signed it twice? Bottom of the middle and right!

2007 is going to look like a bumper year compared to what the Reds are going to serve up this year.
All doom and gloom for mine.
At least Quade crap Cooper and Jimmy Rabbit Oconnor are goneski.
Horwill is no loss either

Geez you're a negative prick Oz Talent.

When Graham's sole responsibility was defence back in 2013 the Reds had the competition's best defence.

With Laurie Fisher gone, Nick Stiles is indisputably the best forwards coach in the country. Look at the development of Greg Holmes, Sam Talakai and Sef Fa'agase this year - a prop in his 30s, a Sydney club player who couldn't crack the tah's and an athletic battler. He transformed them in to a Wallaby, a Wallaby bolter, and one of the NRC's best props in one season.

We've got a fantastic forward pack for 2016 with the best forwards coach. If we wanted to play ugly but win we'd be bloody good at it. Dominate the set piece (Stiles - tick), dominate territory (McIntyre isn't a great kicker. Greene, Hunt and Goromaru are though), defend well (tick - Graham) and kick the bloody goals (Goromaru + Greene, tick). We could do really well by playing to a conservative game plan.

We might not play it, but the team is geared in a way that it would work.

There's a lot of cause for optimism in 2016.

I have a theory that in 2013 Graham was forced to implement an aggressive defensive system by Link. Graham doesn't believe aggressive is the best way, and when he got control he switched systems to a more passive defensive style.

Unfortunately Oz talent is both a Brumbies supporter, and a mighty troll..............

He's also left some rancid bait in the Tahs' thread.............

I don't think he'll be around long.
