Twitter reports he is staying in QLD. Good news imo. That Rebels chatter was all a bit strange, can't see how either party would have benefited from that move. Rebels have half a team of opensides as it is.

RG's contract expires at the end of this year. No real need to make a big song and dance about a decision to let a contract run its course.

The big announcement from Reds HQ should be who has been appointed as the 2016 Reds Head Coach.

The tea leaves seem to be suggesting that it will not be an extension of the current incumbent's contract.

Curtis Browning has the Rebels interested.
95% sure I chatted with Samu last year and he said signed a 2 year extension (2015 + 2016)...

Prior to Curtis doing his ACL my understanding was that the Rebels move was a near certainty, but since then he tore his ACL and won't return to training until January, this may have changed the situation.

I'd like to see Curtis retained, but I wouldn't be completely distraught if he did leave. He's yet to differentiate his game from Quirk and Schatz (though I personally see much more potentially in him) so we are yet to see too much of a glimpse of him being the type of back rower we need in the squad.

I'm expecting that one of Shatz, Fakosilea or Browning will fill the number 8 position. Reds need some greater depth in the blindside flanker/lock position, so Kotze, McDuling Murday to possibly be retained/upgraded. Adam Thomson has also said he wants to remain for 2016.

Obviously fly-half is the big question mark at the moment, Paia'aua has had a pretty good U20's tournament but he has been playing at inside centre and not fly-half. Jake McIntyre to be offered an upgraded contract for 2016?

I see very little chance of McDuling being retained after so little availability in 3 seasons. I think it's very likely Kotze and Murday will be retained though.

I might just be dreaming but if that team stays fit it is a pretty reasonable team. Should be a chance of the finals if fit all season.

I would like to see someone like Timani signed from the Rebels, he offers that physicality in the forwards that the Reds are missing... Lolo might offer that in the future, but 2016 is too soon for him to be a regular starter.
