Also, mentioned by Cheika tonight that Mogg and White seem to be keen to return before their contracts expire. Something going on over at Montpellier? Aren't they being promoted next year?

These Montpellier rumours are strange, sure there could be issues but those are pretty rare when a team is doing well. They're currently 2nd in the Top 14 after a slow start to the year and are playing very good rugby currently (won their last 6 matches).

Mogg would be a good replacement for Goromaru...but does that still leave us with 2 good fullbacks and 0 good anyone else?

Mogg can play on the wing like Roff did for the Wallabies in years past. The back 3 are becoming interchangeable in most good teams these days.

Trouble with Moggy and has always hampered his career is his tackling and pressure moments.

He has a great boot and can attack but......

Yes. But how would Nabulli and CFS go at 15?

If Hunt stays to 15, ditch buying a wasred international in this slot. Bring a second through, consider MacIntyre/Greene even. Bring international to the other slots. That might wel be Mogg to 14, but let that be the thinking.

When I first saw Mogg, I fantasised that the guy just might be the next Latho. I wouldn't be upset to see him in Red.

Well, they both have monster boots and you're not quite sure if he'll make the tackle as the last line of defence ;)

I'd take Mogg as well. I honestly can't remember what it's like having wingers and a fullback that can kick. Between Rocket Rod, Digby, Turner, CFS and these young kids, none of them have something that gave them a "unpredictable" element to them. You could pretty much rely on them running it back and the other teams knew/know it.

Not to mention, having a ball playing 15 would relieve some stress of whatever guy has 10 on his back and allow Kervei to play as a proper 13 if we move KHunt to 12.

Have the Reds been on a media ban in the Courier Mail this week or something? Just bugger all news about them this week.

Is pretty much everyone fit now except for Douglas?

The Reds chances of any CM coverage are next to nil when they're crap and the Broncs & Cowboys are NRL favourites.

that's what Wayne Smith was suggesting. Ben Daley, Lolo, Gunn, Korczyk, Taefu and JJT not available either

Not all of those would be in a full strength squad, probably just Daley. Perhaps one of Lolo or Adam K?

JJT maybe as an outside back option.

ATM we need a DEFENSIVE fullback - one who can tackle when the opposition breaks or goes around our backs.

The real problem is all the backs from 10-15. Some of these blokes have reputations but certainly are not playing to their abilities. Yeah yeah a lot of criticism about Jake not running straighter etc etc but even when the ball goes wide, passes are dent behind players, players are not attacking the line, dropped ball and so on. The skill level is woeful.

How does MOC fix that - fucked if I know but a couple of blokes need to be hooked and guys willing to have a crack in the jersey, given a shot.

That kind of action sends a clear message to the players, ALL PLAYERS. Those dropped will either rise back to the occasion or be doomed to the rugby scrapheap and go and play in Georgia, Italy etc.

It is a privilege to play for the Reds or any Super team. Don't take it for granted.

Maybe we should concentrate on a good coach first.

I think you are being very generous re Ben Daley. Sef's performances this year have relegated Dales to out of the 23, even if he was fit as a mallee bul

any idea when THAT may happen

It would be remiss to appoint a head coach without first locking in a CEO.. That doesn't mean the application process can't begin already, just that the final say likely won't happen until the new CEO is appointed

Nic White wouldn't be a terrible pick up but I think they'll persevere with Fris. Mogg would just be a waste like Goramaru has been.

Not for me, sabanator. Frisbey over White 11 times out of 10. If you cut off White's box kick foot then Frisbey 8 times out of 10.

If you target the worst weak spots in our backline, 9 just doesnt enter conversation. Lets keep the focus on new blood on priorities not on abailability.

I'm completely fine with Frisbey and a local understudy. You can keep Genia in France too.

Have things sufficiently shifted toward common sense, and moved away from historical politics... For Linc to be considered for CEO?
