No doubt then that he will be out for a couple of weeks !!!!!!!

Same with Robbo.

Fuck me, are front rowers getting soft ? A broken snout - jeez toughen up. Robbo has played a million super games and tests and I'll betcha he has played thru much more "serious" injuries.

Totally different for serious injuries - player welfare and all of that (which I agree with totally).

Hopefully the rest of the Super teams don't follow the soft option of saying all front rowers are injured and now we have no option but to go uncontested.

You see there is this thing called concussion that is actually taken seriously these days. Fail the test and no more game time for you until you pass the test.

When you say this:-

I would say that goes beyond manipulating laws and into the realms of some sort of conspiracy. Implying the medical staff are inventing injuries is a fairly big statement.

Please. Bravheart81 predicted the exact situation happen before the game and received a number of 'likes'. It's a common practice for front rowers to get a shoulder stinger or whatever early, get subbed and then come back on later in the game, with seemingly no ill effects.

Show me some sort of source that says that Ta'avao had a head knock though. He didn't leave the field with one. I haven't said that the medical staff manufactured a head knock. I'm saying he left the field with looked like a very innocuous shoulder injury, in exactly the same scenario that a Tahs fan predicted pre-match, and then later in the match when he could have been brought back on, he was deemed unfit to take the field - injury unspecified.

Who cares about the sub. This is a Reds thread, if you have an issue with the prop subs from the game discuss in the game thread. Here we will wallow in our self pity about the Reds being down by 20 points and a prop being binned that would have no effect on the game.

It would seem that because the Tahs had to use an additional replacement in the front row they had already made 8 substitutions and therefore Reece Robinson couldn't get on the field.

Even if there had been another fit prop at the end of the game I don't think they could technically take the field.

This whole argument is moot though. The Tahs had already replaced two props due to injuries and then had a third yellow carded. There was never another prop to take the field to keep contested scrums going and there was nothing to gain by trying to conjure up an extra front rower.

Ok so sometime after he left the field with his shoulder injury, the Tahs coach (presumably) says he failed a concussion test. Pretty convenient. When did the concussion test occur? Straight after he left the field? Just before Tilse was binned?

Sure, whatever. Forget it and move on then. You guys think it smells like roses and I think it stinks to high heaven. I wouldn't want to think my team could pull a stunt like that either. I can't prove it's BS any more than you can prove it's legit. You have the word of a Tahs coach (??? I don't know who Fatprop was referring to in the press conference, but I'm assuming it's the coach) who is completely invested in making sure what they did was all above board and that's it. I have what I saw on TV.

If you think the Tahs are above pulling something like this then you are living in some sort of fantasy land. I'm sure it's not above any team to do it, the problem you guys have is that it was your team that did it. Believe whatever you have to.

So if a player is deemed concussed what is the "concussion protocol" that is then used? Removed from play - check. They then have to rest until all signs and symptoms subside. They then have to follow the Graduated Return to Play protocols as per the ARU & WR (World Rugby) policies.

Is it a mandatory week off?
No. They can return to play as long as they are not showing signs or symptoms.

If all the Tahs forwards were injured by concussion. Were they confirmed by an independent Doctor on the sideline? Yes. The Concussions tests are carried out by an independent doctor. Or at least were be last time I heard.

The big question is will they play this week? That depends on if they "pass" the return to play protocols.

If they do play can a "headache" while on the field constitute a concussion related injury given what occurred against the Reds and they can go uncontested?

Protocols say they can not return to play until a clear 24 hours after the disappearance of all signs & symptoms. These symptoms include a headache during/after exercise. I mention this because I would expect that if he got a headache during a game it would be from a new event IF the proper protocols were followed, i.e. if still getting headaches from exercise then he shouldn't be paying.

Tahs should have forfeited the game. Weal effort methinks whichever way you look at it. Hopefully Tahs will have 6 front rowers in the stands this week - better to be safe than sorry !!!!!!:)

I think we see medical staff inventing injuries almost every scrum. How many times do they ask for a minute while they give magic water to fix an injury then the player jumps up and packs into a scrum.

What you just described there is the front rowers oldest trick in the book. If they're struggling with the pace of the game, a quick "oh my neck is stiff" gives you a 5 minute break. Not to mention, it gives your team a moment to regather any lost composure during the short break.

I can't believe the outcry about 6 minutes of uncontested scrums. There is bigger fish to fry than whether a bloody and bruised prop could come on. If this is a sticking point of what we took out of the game, then no wonder the Reds are in the shit.

Wow Scoey you've opened my eyes to the extent of the scandal here. But it goes so much deeper...

In about minute 70 of the match there was a streaker, who ran the length of the field. While everyone (including the officials) was watching said streaker, Daryl Gibson walked to the Tahs bench and cracked Angus Taavao over the back of the head with a baseball bat, explaining the concussion AND why the Tahs don't want to talk about it.

Gibson clearly saw the scrum struggling, and took drastic steps to prevent AT from being able to go back on.

Do I also need to point out the streaker looked a lot like Nathan Grey???

This is our Watergate, people.

Nothing less than a season forfeit is appropriate here.

If a penalty try was awarded then Tahs lose their bonus point, that could be the difference between making the finals and not for them, it wouldn't have impacted on the Reds points.

Nobody wants to think about a streaker looking like Grey, how nasty can you get.

That's commitment to pound out that sarcastic diatribe on a phone! Feel better now?

I've said my bit. I don't understand why you Tahs fans are so damn offended, the hysteria is getting weird. This post is my case in point.

From what I have gathered of you all over the years, you've all played the game enough or watched it more than enough if you haven't played, to know how it works. It's no conspiracy, it's no great secret. Mysterious injuries to front rowers are part of the game. Usually they are used to rotate props on and off the field but, not to lock up a bonus point that would've been otherwise lost. What happened smells off and I called it.

It doesn't affect the Reds in any way shape or form. It only affected one of the teams involved and that was your lot. They got a bonus point. As TOCC said, BPs can and do make huge differences at the end of the season.

You have to pay Barbarians post though given hes historically fair;).

If i took away the score board, I thought the Reds won.
NSW played better for about 20 - 25 minutes they scored points when playing better, the Reds didn't convert their opportunities. But i haven't re watched.

I'm nervous about this week - the Brumbies were ruthless.
