That's some crap money for a bloke who has been around a while. He needs to suck it up and put himself down as a forward.

I think that's the reality of a specialist winger in the NRL, unless he has some aerial acrobatic skills then they have a fairly limited earnings potential.

Many clubs use the wing as a spot for the younger guys to get blooded before moving them in close to the action, albeit fullback, centre or even forwards.

If you needed any more evidence that the board are simply looking out for their own interests, the QRU just emailed a promotion for a product which will directly profit Messrs McCall and White.

These occurrences have gone on for some time, but surely since they have shown the on and off-field success of QLD rugby is not a priority, this sort of thing needs to stop.

St George Illawarra Dragons have agreed to release both Eto Nabuli and Rory O’Brien from the final year of their current respective playing contracts at the end of the 2015 playing season.
Both players made their respective first-grade debuts for the club in the opening round of the 2015 season against the Melbourne Storm, with Nabuli making a total of 11 appearances and O’Brien three to date.
Fijian-born winger Nabuli, 27, has been linked with Super Rugby club Queensland Reds, and prop or second-rower O’Brien, 26, has signed with Parramatta for 2016.
The Queensland Reds are expected to announce soon they have signed Nabuli.

So thats 28 players signed, however Tui doesnt count as he is a Japanese test player, so that leaves 5 position's still available in the Reds. The foreign marquee position is still open as well, so you could expect that to be used on a 5/8.

I think we will see another lock, back-rower, fly-half and fullback signed.

I hope they don't bother signing another fullback. JJT, JOC (James O'Connor) and Hunt are all adequate cover in that position. I'd prefer them sign a seasoned halfback from somewhere, I'm not overly confident if Frisby gets injured that Tuttle and more so Gale are capable of running the show.

I know they're watching Tim Smith closely.

This is that book right?

Is it even legal for board members of a not-for-profit to use the organisation like this to benefit their own companies?

Yeah the book. Produced by IQ (Chris White) and printed by IPG (Rod McCall).

Not sure on the legality or if there is an official conflict, they probably have some sponsorship loop-hole, but you'd certainly say it's a conflict without declaring the interest in the email. Even run of the mill affiliate marketers now have to declare if they receive a cut. I wonder if the Reds see anything from sales through the email.

I'm still getting used to seeing a Reds squad without the names Horwill, Genia and Cooper. That's a lot of turnover from 2011, I think I only counted 7 still around.

Whats more scary and more indicative of the squad turnover is that 50%(14 players) of the squad have debut'd in the past 2 years, and thats not including new additions like Douglas, Neville and O'Connor'

If this is true, then McCall & White need to be dismissed from the board.
The one positive McCall had was to be in charge of the board that selected McKenzie, but after that, it has been all down hill for him.
If McCall is profiting on the side directly from his chairman's position then the ARU should scrutinize it.

It's being promoted by ARU too, including Stephen Larkham with video of the current team as well, so it would appear they are pretty supportive of the concept.
