Yes! Are you going Tangawizi? If so, please send us a report if you can. Or grab Austin and take him too; last year his observations of what was (or rather what was not) happening in Wallaby training sessions were invaluable gems.

Just got here so have missed most of the session. Ant Fainga'a not running with the backs atm. Think he's just getting treatment on hamstring now instead.

Been told he was running well before I got here and no problems with the hammy (by him).

And Beau is testing elbow out in a club match over the weekend so hopefully all goes well.

Looks like the troops will arrive back in time and getting the week off has certainly helped.

I was there for most of the training session yesterday. Ant trained with all the others just about the full session but left the backs training a a little early to get his hamstring worked on - he didn't have any troubles, just normal post-training stretching for his injury. Beau put in the full session at training and I had a good chat with him afterwards. There appears to be no need to worry about these two not being ready to go next weekend. The other injured players are more of a concern though.

I thought Mike Harris was expected to be ready as well.

Daley,Fainga'a,Holmes,Simmons,Horwill,Higginbotham,Robinson,Shatz/Samo, Genia, Cooper, Ioane, Tapuai, Fainga'a, Davies, Lance
Bench: Hanson, Anae/Shepherdson, Wallace-Harrison, Samo/Shatz,Gill,Prior, Shipperely.

I was impressed eith Shatz against the Cheifs and I think the decision between him and Samo will come down to who and how we play.

I thought Shatzie had a cracker last week too, but you'd have to go with Samo as a starter for next week's game. Use his size to make the hard yards and tire the blues out and then bring Shatz on for the last 20 with some fresh legs to carve old farts like mealamu up!!!

Yeah man it's a tough one, I agree though, Radike's defensive impact probably wins him the spot. It's a good porblem to have, Shatzie is one for the future

If Beau plays then we won't need Shatz to start....
Link started Shatz to help out Gill at the breakdown, Samo is a good player but his not fast enough/fit enough to make the breakdowns as well as Shatz does...If Beau is back then I expect Samo to start..

I didn't see Harris or Lucas at the training session yesterday. Morahan was there but didn't train with the squad - he worked separately on skills like taking high balls etc. If he can be recovered enough to do a full training session Monday then he should be considered so there's still a chance. The other two seem pretty unlikely.

Thoughts on the player awards this year?

My guess would be.

Forward of the Year: Beau Robinson
Back of the Year: Quade Cooper
Rookie of the Year: Liam Gill ( would Mike Harris count)
Try of the Year: Ben Tapuai vs Blues semi final

Not sure about try of the year. Diggers against the Bulls would be up there too.

They might need a "Post-Try Celebration of the Year" Award too.

They might need a "Post-Try Celebration of the Year" Award too.

If Reds are up and score a try with <10minutes to go, I suspect that there will be a post-try celebration to trump Digby's; either another solo by Digby if he scores or a team one I've heard whispers of.

Am I correct in calculating that the Reds used 34 players throughout this 2011 Championship Season? And that they were:

James Horwill (Captain), Albert Anae, Will Chambers, Quade Cooper, Ben Coridas, Ben Daley, Rod Davies, Anthony Fainga'a, Saia Fainga'a, Will Genia, Liam Gill, James Hanson, Michael Harris, Scott Higginbotham, Greg Holmes, Leroy Houston, Van Humphries, Peter Hynes, Digby Ioane, Jono Lance, Ben Lucas, Luke Morahan , Dallan Murphy, Ian Prior, Ed Quirk, Caleb Ralph, Beau Robinson, Jake Schatz, Guy Shepherdson, Dom Shipperley, Rob Simmons, James Slipper, Ben Tapaui, Adam Wallace-Harrison

And that the only members of the full squad who did not get any game time were Lei Tomiki and Kimami Sitauti?
