id love to see after the world cup some of the players from outside aus nz and rsa score s15 contracts>>
whos your s15 team? and who would you put in your squad?
also in terms of selling merchandise it boggles the mind that in s15 every team hasnt figured out that a marquee player will increase shirt sales in the players home country>> (think manchester united and park ji sung> practically the whole of asia supports manchester united)
christ nsw need a decent flanker and i recon if they gave warburten from wales a contract and they had a good year every second person in wales would buy a shirt! its a whole new market geniuses> ie one thats not confined to nsw! ok im waffling
there are a couple of examples like sharks and michelak and yeh the rebels this year >>
i feel nz or rsa imports are wasted in oz teams cause nobody in these countries in the right mind would buy a shirt from a rival province
also id like to see a lot more pacific islanders and argies across the teamsr

i know people in england who own crusaders shirts and they do this cause the image promoted is one of excellence and dominance>>
the reds could capitalise on their win this year and potential for growth over the next few years but having say an Argentinian prop next year> then practically anyone in argentina who watches the s15 is gunna go the reds and hopefully buy a shirt>

I'd love to see the Namibian fullback in a Crusaders jersey. I don't know who he plays for now, but I hope it's someone good.

Edit: Chrysander Botha is his name. Apparently he plays for a club in Namibia called Kudus. Surely Blackadder can outbid that.

First i'd like to see the ARU and the NZRU allow two or three non qualifying imports and one or two potentially qualifying imports for each team
Then I'd say with Argentina joining the tri-nations, reserve at least one spot in each team for an argentinian.

I'd love to see a few more of the non-qualifying islanders get a go in the Super 15.

NSW should sign tuilagi and sell a home game to Samoa each year of his contract to pay for him....might get a bigger crowd there!

The Namibian and Canadian 13's are both guns.

The Canadian bloke, vd Merwe, is of good boer stock. He runs lines like a 13 should. Would make strides in and Super 15 team.

The bearded Canadian six is a machine. He'd do well in any Super Team, although he is on the small side.

Didn't Richard Grahem say in one of the podcasts that he would be watching the cup with a view to filling his marquee spot?

Good thread but, namibian fullback botha looks pretty handy. Canadian and American outside centres are both very decent players. Japanese scrummy was quite good as well.

I'd love to see the reds fill their marque spot with a decent foreign prop. Lots of them running around.

I think I remember the commentators saying that Fijian guy who scored 4 trys, Vereniki Goneva plays club rugby in fiji or something. I'd imagine if he continues his form he could get picked up by european clubs.

Yep few names i think would be worth a look.

Todd Clever
Jaques Burger ( this bloke is all class, unlikely due to him being with Saracens).
DTH van der Merwe (again I think he's contacted with Glasgow).
Van Wyk (Namibia 13, I've thought he has been outstanding so far).
The Japanese Hooker and Captain (6), but they are immersed in the Japanese league.

Broken record here but, I would like each Super Rugby franchise open 5 squad places for international players. That would open 75 spots. Guarantee 50% of those to Argentina initially in lieu of their own franchises (as they come online, which I am assuming they will, give those spots to other minnow nation players). Would add a lot more to the competition than it would cost in my opinion and go a long way to further accelerating the progress of these nations. I would love to see Collins Injera from the Kenya 7s team given a contract and such.

I don't think we have enough spots for our own NPC players without bringing in foreigners. Can't see how it would aid the Australian game either.

Could open up opportunities to add new teams to each conference and would be a step to begin to open up the competition to new international audiences.

I heard a story about Jacques Burger working at a safari park and head-butting a lion to stop it attacking a baboon. I've got my doubts, but I want it to be true, and the guy who told me was being dead serious.

This guy seems to agree (more or less): http://www.rugbynetwork.net/boards/read/s104.htm?107,11925454
HAHAHAHA! That's awesome if it's true. He has become my favourite player from the minnow nations, love the brutal way he plays.

I think he has been confused with Schalk van der Merwe who was a game warden at a wild life sanctuary and also played for Namibia.
