Public Schools only for me - but I played for a public club rather than my school. There used to be a really strong tradition of public rugby clubs in Canberra, but it seems to have died for whatever reason.

I went to a public (state) school in a country town, my history teacher was the coach of the rugby team, he asked me to play.

I then joined the local rugby club and was taught how to drink on the bus rides to neighbouring towns. I broke my arm playing just after leaving school and it was not cool with my job, so I never went back.

A few year ago after moving to Brisbane and having no real friends, I joined Easts for a year to see if I could still play, had a good year, but my work travel/family prevents me from committing now.
