Its a disgrace Kingston has been admitted from this starting line up - to tell you the truth I have played against Lachie Mitchell and scored two tries when marked against him - thats how bad he is. If I can step him the Crusaders will step on him.

Was this in under 12's?

Mate, seriously, that argument just holds no water. Lachie has a Super contract and is a regular starter in a S15 team.

Where are you in your representative career?

Based on his previous post, his representative career is going pretty well. He started at the Tahs, just moved to the Rebels but has been dropped from the matchday 23 after starting last week.

Say hello to Tom Kingston. :p

Hopefully in the week off, he works out the difference between admitted and omitted. Maybe he's just a bit laxative with his use of language like Tom English.

Didn't Tom Kingston get 104 out of 100 for his tertiary entrance score?

Standards have dropped these days!

I played pro-rugby in Japan for three years but I am not here to defend myself. Anyway I have been a long time supporter of upcoming backs like Kingston, Inman and English - just think its time for a changing of the guard

I would have kept Kingston in the side, but changing of the guard? Mitchell is only 26 mate, not that old yet.

Inman is 25 so not that far behind Mitchell in the old guard brigade when you look at the age of the Rebels squad.

i also would have kept Kingston in the 23 but not at the expense of Mitchell who i thought covered well for woodward's weekend waywardness.

i am a big fan of Mitchell who rarely lets his mates or fans down.

The one thing Woodward can learn from Mitchell, when you kick make sure it's not coming back in a hurry. Think Woodward was trying to hard to make massive gains.

This should be the game of the season for me. Two teams trying to beat eachother at their own game - going lateral before going forward.

Bottom line - I'm excited.

Fair enough and I'll take you at your word.

Not really sure why you have a thing against Lachie Mitchell though. He has been great for us through the trials and the Cheetahs game.

Yes, he had a poor game against the Force but no-one walked away from that with their ego's intact.

The "old guard" (basically a combination of journeymen and look-at-me-players) have largely been swept away at the end of last year and I'm very ok with the current starting team. Mitchell may not be the flashest player around but by God he never stops contributing.

I think he is going to thrive under McGahan, and the structure and game plan seems to suit him. He is getting far more involved compared to previous years as far as I can see and really adds a nice finishing touch.

Mitchell is ok. He shits me when he throws his customary poor passes and speculative chip kicks, but more often than not he does his job and does it well.

It's his spot, Kingston needs to earn it. Same goes for Colby - he's the new bloke in the team and needs to put his stamp on it.

The last two Crusaders matches were belters, even with the loss in Christchurch. Rebels have always got up for them and I expect tonight to be no different. I'm bringing the mrs for her first rugby match so hopefully we win and she can see AAMI Park at its best.

There has been a myth circulating about Tom Kingston's ATAR. As I recall it his ranking was 99+, i.e., he was in the top one percent of candidates. Because of his participation in schools representative rugby, including Australian Schools, he made an application under the University of Sydney's Elite Athletes and Performers Scheme which is for applicants who are able to demonstrate they are elite athletes or performers, and have had training, competitive and/or practice commitments which have significantly affected their results. (Many other universities now have similar schemes)

Understandably Tom's application was successful. As a result different faculties at the University had the discretion to allow him up to a 5 point bonus on his ATAR, giving rise to the assertion, not by him, that his score was 104.

The real merit in his performance was that notwithstanding the huge demands on his time and disruption involved with representative rugby, he was able to place in the top one percent of candidates, an extraordinary achievement.

How big is this game for the Rebels , one hit wonders or contenders , arguably the best team we can field , will be very throughly tested by a Crusaders team ( read forward pack ) i reckon will be out to SMASH us tonight especially the forwards . Go Rebs !!

Bruce; and all the while apparently avoiding laxative performances.

Amazing!

Fuck me, Marto pronouncing player's names (particularly those of islander descent) is excruciating.

Yeah nice turnout.

Force also get their biggest crowds when kiwi's are in town. Pretty sure all the bros have a complete set of NZ super15 jerseys and just rock up supporting whoever is playing the force.

Looks at least half full? (is that good for them?) Sorry not paying much attention.

Btw, did they just give a penalty for offside off a kick? Should have been a scrum from there...
