Rebels can't do what the Tahs and Reds did and get outside the Lions defence, they are just panicking behind the gainline. Really hope they can get something on the board!

Poor Rebels, suffering from a highly inefficient strategy and some questionable moves from the coaching staff.

Who in their right mind takes off their captain, who is a loose forward, WHO HAS PLAYED WITH THESE GUYS, when you have an attacking line out near your opponents 22?

Rebels deserve a try, they also need to play a brand of Rugby they are comfortable with.

Disappointing from Rebels. Didn't fire a shot. Burgess still can't pass or kick.

That seems pretty low for a city as big as Melbourne with a test coming up on Saturday. You'd have thought that the BIL groups would have shown up in force.
Capacity is 29,500 for rugby. Apparently sold every ticket but obviously a few no shows.

For a third choice outside back, Zebo certainly has a bit of front. Bordering on wanker, but i'll give him the slightest benefit of the doubt. (Never seen a player encourage the crowd to chant his name before...)

Disappointed the Rebels didn't convert some of the pressure they managed to create. The kicking from Hegarty, Burgess and Woodward was so frustrating. Who grubbers or bombs from first phase ball?!?

I thought SOB was a standout for the Lions, with Faletau not far behind. A very dominant display from the pair of them. Tuilagi was well marked and didn't have the impact he was probably looking for. On that performance I wouldn't change the midfield pair for Saturday.

Rebels were shot the minute Burgess started crabbing and looping the ball. Hegarty looks like a lower grade league player... Because he is...

As with ALL the Lions games we've seen so far, the pick n drive is the way to gain ground, because their line speed out wide is waaaay to good.

Of the 28,500-odd people that turned up, I reckon 20,000 were Lions supporters.

I have half a mind to report Burgess to customs; he obviously brought a bucket of crabs from Gits and smuggled them into the country.

Good first half from the Rebels but the constant pressure inside their 22 just caused the playmakers to panic and kick everything away. I can understand that, but the kicks were mostly ineffective or out on the full.

Pretty toothless in attack too, and the few phases that were put together were wasted with turnover ball; not to mention a return to the old days where most of the attacking lineouts were lost.

Mitch Inman has a broken thumb. Hugh Pyle has a bung leg.

But fuck it. It was a great night. Lions in Melbourne.

Over to you, Wallabies.
