I could say something unkind about all rebels games being dead rubbers, but then that would just remind everyone they essentially knocked the tahs out of the comp

I liked it when Referee Lees whistled for turnover when Smith didn't heed his calls for "use it".

If a few more refs were stringent with this the #9s will soon learn that they need to get Gilbert moving again when he is at the back of the Ruck/maul/tackle contest.

These Rebels seem to have already resigned themselves to an early end of season.

Bonus Point try on Oranges for the Clan.

I don't know how many times I've bagged fans for whinging about referees but that was just terrible form in the last 20 minutes. Just allowed to do whatever they wanted the Rebels. The ruck before that try WAS A BLATANT PENALTY. Man clearing came completely from the side.

So much help but well done to the Rebels.

The Rebels give Hill, Delve, Muggelton, Henderson, Phipps, Robinson et al a good send off in a massive turnaround after oranges, to get a 5 try bonus point victory on the siren.

The Clan will be devastated as the game was theirs to win given the 1/2 time score @ 31-7.

Smiles all round at the Rebels.

ACR agree, was a huge mess at the end. Lees let players enter everywhere at the breakdown, didn't blow his whistle enough at time.

That being said, story of the Clan's season. The Rebels played all of the football at the end. they threw the ball around and the bounce really went their way.

That half time turn around was unbelievable.

JOC (James O'Connor) deserves credit for the way he played off the bench, played like he had a rocket up him, played a lot less selfish. Still not a 10, but in games like that you can see he could maybe do it if given enough time - which would be a while. He plays like a 12 at 10.

The guy who made the most impact was Jones, though. Saffy had done well, but Jones really made the Clan know he was out there.

Well that was entertaining!

Must say I like how Tom English has gone this year. Also the trio of Pyle, Neville and Jones are brilliant to watch.

Big thank you to Gareth Delve for his time with the Rebels, even though I'm not Rebels fan, you can see how much he has done for that club.

Yeah, I'm sure it went both ways. It was just bloody frustrating seeing every single call in the last 20 minutes go against us. The ruck before the last try was just a huge standout because it wasn't messy, he was right there, we had a man over the ball and he was cleared out STRAIGHT from the side, clear as day.

Refs are always likely to let the side with momentum get away with more though, so congrats to the Rebels on keeping the ball and getting go forward. Taking no credit from them, the Highlanders defended like poo, didn't hold on to the ball. Just turned to shit.

Lost to three Australian sides by 1 point. Loses to the Force, Rebels and S. Kings. An embarrassing season.

Yep. He played a level above the other blokes out there.

(Still a knob.)

He was terrific. MotM candidate along with English who was excellent at outside and I never thought he'd be anything more than a Super rugby winger. I'm very impressed.

But, who got MotM? Cooper Vuna. The man who missed two tackles by fucking up our slide D and made the worst kick return decision I'd seen at Super rugby level. Sure, Vuna scored two tries but he let in at least two. At LEAST. Good man and he's had good games for us but this wasn't one of them.

On a different note, I'd almost consider keeping JOC (James O'Connor) after that. If we can pay him the price of the mid tier player (and it looks like we could) and let the ARU top up do the heavy lifting, it could be a steal.

If we pay him mid tier money (the kind Sidey or Saffy would be making) we can shift him between the starting side and as low as out of the 22 and not even fret. It'd be nice.

JOC (James O'Connor) was very good, Jones was head and shoulders the best on the park though - even if he did only have 30 minutes or whatever it was. Ridiculous that Neville is starting over him. Great finish to the season, great to see Delve and the others go out on a high.

I'll wait until I see the replay before I make a definitive comment on JOC (James O'Connor)'s performance. I would note that his arrival also coincided with the Rebels forwards gaining dominance and getting over the gain line. Its much easier for a back to look good in those circumstances.

Jones was far and away the best on ground from what I saw. He almost singlehandedly changed the tone of the match by smashing it up the park the way he did.

Yep. Simply immense game. Did more in 30 minutes than Pyle and Neville did all match. There is no way we would have won without him. And to think Vuna got MotM...
