On the positive for the Rebels O'Connor has been very good, he's trying everything. Interesting to see if the Cheetahs will go on with it now in the second half. I was tossing up between these two, leaning more toward the Cheetahs but just didnt know whether they'd go to sleep again at times like they did against the Brumbies, maybe they've learnt their lesson from the other week. We'll find out soon enough.

Sounded like Tahs fans have infiltrated AAMI Park - I thought I heard some booing

They had infiltrated the Brumbies/Force game too in round 2 given the boos I heard when the Brumbies were putting up a few kicks. Lets face it, we are living in the age of the boo crowd, Tahs 'fans' have just taken the mantle as the best at this 'art'.

Kingi to the wing. Hux off.

62min in Le Roux gets pinged for kicking the ball into the stands, gets penalised. Huxley did the same thing in the first half & no extra 10m awarded on top for the Cheetahs.

O'Connor nails the penalty.

I've only just started watching the game so I don't know what you're talking about...

But booting the ball away like that generally gets you a yellow card...

That's how Mitchell received a red against the All Blacks a couple of years ago...

Needless and poorly executed kicks and stupid grubbers (with either zero gain for the kicking team or excellent gains for the opposition on counter attack from the receipt) are rapidly becoming the bubonic plague of Australian rugby.

I can't believe O'Connor is wearing one of those power bands (I think that's what it was). It seems like just about every company that sponsors him has been charged with false advertising.

You would want to hope that they're paying him a lot of money to wear that rubbish...

If the game gets replayed then you will see earlier in the 1st half that the Cheetahs had been given advantage, Rebels got the ball, the pill gets passes to Huxley who knocks on but then boots the ball down field (obviously he would have known since the Rebels had got a hold of the ball that the ref would have called it up so the Cheetahs would have had possession). As such, he also should have been carded also if we want to card Willie too.

Not sure the current refs are thinking about Drew Mitchells card from several years ago.

The ref has been a little inconsistent. Both teams have had advantage & disadvantage though so I'd say it's about 50/50.

Not the same thing...

The major difference is that the Cheetahs booted the ball away so the Rebels couldn't take a quick lineout...

I don't think the law book lists that a card should be given more or less simply because its in a different 'context'. We disagree, I'm leaving it at that, these law arguments turn into shit fights & my lingering St Paddys day hang over hasnt got me in the mood for lively discussion.

Rebels should win this with a penalty.
