I personally would like to see them bring some of there pathway talent back. There’s some quality boys around the 21-23 year old mark that are worthy of a crack. I’m personally sick of these interstate players of the same age getting a crack over these boys. What more do you have to do. Good example is Jordan, Pati, Trev, Pone. I definitely feel for Sione Tuipoluto. Outstanding form but never really got a crack under Vessels. Look at him now. Just my thoughts.

Carter Gordon only signed on for 1 year? Sweet your loan is over and we will take him back now thanks.

Unsure if Matt Philp when re-negotiating his covid contract took up the option of taking a year sabbatical for Pau or will be unsigned as of the end of Top14 but is returning to Super Rugby. Tahs will have a bit more money to through at him Marika is not on that much, DHP & To'omua are on more apparently.

Josh Canham (Brighton Grammar)
Sione Liolesio (Wyndam Rhinos)
Isaac Aedo Kailea (Quins)
Moses Poreo (Quins)

Are all academy graduates that were added to the 2021 squad, can I find any details of when they are signed to.

Philip coming back is all well and good but we haven't been losing because of our tall timber. Our backs lack penetration and cough up the ball way too easily. Last week I think every back except for Ili conceded possession twice. Is this a Wessels issue?

Its a Reece Hodge playing in the centres issue, should see that clear right up this weekend.

This will be the 2nd burn boy in the top14 with Sione Tu'i playing at Stade Francais

Damn shame, Melbourne boy who looks to be having his best season yet. But fair enough, been around for a while and won’t make Wallabies, good luck to him.

Need them to stay and play for us. There are more Melbourne boys playing for other clubs then the Rebels as a fan I find it disappointing they we can’t provide an environment they want to stay in

It’s called money. Leota isn’t a regular starter, has little international prospect and is probably been offered 3x what he’s on here. The only culture that keeps people around under these circumstances is illegal payments or the mafia is running the club.

There is more to life than money and you see other clubs in other codes inspire loyalty in there players

There just doesn't seem to be the culture with the Rebels that enables them to retain players or Junior talent. Might take one of their original sons to take up a coaching role and start to build a culture, they don't have 140 years of history to build off so they need to start somewhere.

We never retain anyone long enough to build continuity

Other codes you can earn considerable money been a squad member, Aus Super Rugby sides been a squad member isn’t a lucrative job. There is guys in the team that earn less than $100k a season (yep good money but not in the professional sporting sphere). The main thing for pro athletes is “am I playing regularly”?, if the answer is no then you look somewhere else.

This would be the case here, he’s not earning good money and not playing regularly. Now he can go overseas and play 10-15+ games a year and earn some good money that means he won’t have to work until he’s 68yrs old.
