Unfortunately the likelihood of DHP playing again is getting slimmer by the day. Has had a recurrence of headaches.

Just read that. Poor bugger, no one deserves that. Surely retire now, why risk anything.

It's a shame, he's served Australia well and is a very smart footballer.

When it comes to this stuff lets just get him right footy is secondary, he is young & soon to be a dad thats whats most important. If he doesnt play again I think he has what it takes too add something off field to help any club

Good article about To'omua in the Age today. About to buy a house in Melbourne, says he's here for good essentially. Not going to take his sabbatical option even though it's been offered. Weirdly now on the board of Tenpin Bowling Australia. Still a couple years left in him.

Amazing news.

Some stability in the roster potentially for the first time in well.... ever

Eloff, Gibbon and Dickie Hardwick the next targets.

Looks like the ten pin bowling directorship is a BRC Capital link. From the ten pin Australis website:

Jerome Joseph (VIC)
Chair

Jerome is CEO/Executive Director of BRC Life, a company that is part of the BRC Capital group of companies.

What are friends for hey. Little bit of Saracens' magic in To'omua's re-signing.

Paul Docherty will do anything for the club & at least we have someone who is willing to look outside the box to help us

New Latrobe sporting precinct to start construction in December, joint facility with the Matildas and Victorian Football.

The Victorian State Rugby Centre will boast a show pitch with grandstand seating and two additional pitches, along with high performance facilities including a gymnasium, sport science, medical and recovery areas and a training and match day home for the Melbourne Rebels’ Super W team

lock it into 2023 reg

Yeah, not sold on resigning him based of the last few seasons. Not sure if this is a solution or part of (or continuation) of the problem. Especially noting they need change, the rosters not quite right and they have signed before sorting out a new coaching regime.

He was sensational last year in SRAU and the 1.5 international games he played and great this year for the first 4 matches and then poo for the last 4. Just need to go back to the GAGR team of the year votes for both years to see how well he’s played sometimes

I think To'omua is a quality player, he is just playing to a shitty game plan and baffling selections IMO. And his passing seems to have gone to shit this year as well.

Agreed, it seems the only game plan is to try and ship it to the wings ASAP no matter what, on Sat the Blues were all over this so we resorted to aimless kicks. sigh

We actually have some stability for next year

So far the following are signed that have played this year.

1 Orr
2 Uelese
3 Fa’amasuili
4 Philip
5 Hosea
6 Kemeny
7 Wilkin
8 Wells
9 Powell
10
11
12 To’omua
13 Magnay
14 Anderson
15 Hodge

If we can keep a few others around we will be in a better spot than we are now.

I have no idea about Carter Gordon contract length so will be interesting if it’s up for renewal or has another year to run

List I would chase from 1st choice to last

Clayton McMillan (done an amazing job over the ditch)
Michael Cheika (everyone knows his game plan but when everyone fit can pay off)
DC (looks the goods in club rugby & the 6th best comp internationally
Stephan Larkham (Munster beat Leinster the other week & they never loose)
Kevin Foote (umm has coached at nrc)
Alan Jones (can do his show in andrew bolts studio??????)

Munster beat a 3rd string Leinster team who rested everyone for the European Cup the following week, that win means nothing. Coming from a Munster fan to.
