Rebels 2020

What's the deal with Cam? Haven't heard of him, but that's not surprising given the shallow depth of my player knowledge

Pretty young for a prop (24), played a season most recently for twiggy rugby and has had decent wraps on him since his Aus U20s days. Played for West Harbour growing up in Sydney. Don't think he's really come through on his potential though.

Melbourne Storm have announced that Solomone Kata is leaving. There have been rumours going around that he may be joining the Rebels.

Great signing from the Rebels today. I question if Ainsley has much of a future at the Rebels with Fa’amasuili clearly been preferred in the NRC, Smith’s signing etc. I can see him coming down south for anything less than a bench spot.

Gibbon and Sa’aga will be the LH’s

We desperately need some tall timber now

Wells is a good player, but signing him makes little sense to me unless we're VERY worried about the durability of Hardwick/Wilkin. I wouldn't have him in my 23, and I would have thought Killingworth would have been that 3rd "small" flanker in the squad after those two, with Cottrell being the "in case of emergency" option @ 7.

C'est la vie.

Maybe Jones is being considered primarily as a lock. Back row of Wilkin, Hardwick and Naisarani with Wells on the bench for me.

EDIT: this is done with the assumption that RHP and Cottrell aren't back for 2020.

1. Sa'aga
2. Uelese
3. Smith
4. Jones
5. Philip
6. Wilkin
7. Hardwick
8. Naisarani
9. Lomani
10. To'omua
11. Koroibete
12. Meakes
13. Hodge
14. Maddocks
15. DHP

Ideally this mystery international tight 5 is a lock, so Jones can shift to 6 replacing Wilkin. Rebels have a load of middle of the road props. None top 5 in the country which is a real shame. Also not quite sure if Meakes is returning.

RHP, Cottrell, Meakes all currently contracted, i assume Hardwicke, Wilkin and Killingworth are the "7s" and Cottrell, Wells, the "6" with RHP/Jones the 4/6 and Leota the 8/6 cover. Hopefully competition breeds improvement. Highlander could be on the money about long term prospects of backrow forwards with dodgy knees.
