His younger brother Alex is a promising prop, was in the Aus 20s wider squad for this year. Jordan Uelese’s younger brother Junior is another good young prospect, he moved to NZ for the last couple of years of high school to for its rugby program. Back in Aus now he’s finished and been training with the squad as an extra during the offseason. Another prop.
Forwards seem to be what the system down here is most likely to develop.
Shame about Sa’aga. His injury issues last year came at a bad time when he had a solid season the year before.
Australia’s professional rugby players have rejected a new wage cut proposal by Rugby Australia, and on Tuesday night suggested sitting out the domestic competition to start on July 3 if they’re not paid more. The threat is of such substance that Melbourne Rebels players, booked on a flight to Canberra on Friday at 10am to play the Brumbies on July 4, are openly talking about not boarding the plane.]

You get the feeling we're getting shit-canned here a little. First, there's talk of 16 players leaving (only 2 thus far). And now, this:
Just makes it sound like we're the bad guys of Australian Rugby. A little unsettiing, especially when Hamish McClennan talks of his concern for sustaining 5 professional teams.

anyone know who is paying for this? Surely a 50 person squad interstate for two weeks is very expensive. Is RA footing this? Are they being billeted with some local footy club?
Lol - Professional teams billeting. Good one. No way. I'm sure there are some RUPA clauses saying they need X & Y quality of accom and support facilities when travelling.
It's been said the bill for them being based away is $1mil. But no - no idea if RA is footing the bill or the Rebels. RA didn't pay for the Force bill to be based away - Andrew F paid for it.
So no to top and tailing in a shared bed either, I suppose?

Looks like we have picked up Michael Stolberg for the Aus Super Rugby season
