Link was chewed up and spat out by Australia rugby and the associated media, can't see him ever returning and I couldn't blame him

Great to hear Cheika talk about the importance of McMahon to Australian rugby. Bit late though. Would have preferred his support about three months ago when he was busy signing up for his bundle of Yen.

He probably did. Now he's just voicing his opinion publicly

My understanding is the ARU was waiting for him to recover from injury before showing there hand. He showed his and they said they can't match it.

Also have heard that his Japanese contract is 2018/19 season not 17/18. So there is room to keep him around for another year if every thing falls into place.

Would that be right KO? I see where McMahon himself is talking about going to Japan at the end of the RC, this year.

I must admit I was sure he was off to Japan as soon as his contract with Rebels/ARU expires at the end of Oct this year.

He resigned in 2014 until the end of 2016. Surely we did not sign him on one year deal after that. Can't find anything but I thought he was resigned with us for 2018 but only ARU until the end of this year.

Meaning he had a release clause if not offered a top up.

Realistically this would have been his first Wallaby contract wouldn't it?

He only debuted for the Wallabies at the end of 2014. Presumably there wouldn't have been any guaranteed Wallaby money in 2015 and they contracted him for 2016 and 2017.

Gareth Delve appointed Bristol Rugby team manager, someone I would love to see back in Melbourne working behind the scenes.
We probably are looking for a team manager. Chris Thompson is going to the Fiji NRC team. Delve would have been perfect.

We already have a good one: Mark "Sarg" Rowe. Been doing the TM thing since my playing days. Top bloke.
