Did we see that the Brumbies are live streaming the trial on Saturday? Good chance to get a look at a few of the non-Wallaby/ big name recruits, alongside how our own boys are looking under Wessells gameplan.

Sorry, are you saying they are streaming it, or asking if they are?

I don't actually see this as a bad thing. Rising will focus on playing McGregor or Taylor at 10. JD gets some great NZ experience and then if we look to resign him for next season (given how he performs this season) we can have him back. Could be a win/win for all parties

Agreed. Certainly better than playing in Japan. I thought he was pretty good in 2016, and was very unlucky not to get more time at 10 last year (behind the mediocre Garden-Bachop). Looking forward to watching him play for Northland.

Based on the article about him being signed by NMFC, it happened when he was 17 in 2016.

Presumably the last rugby he played was a schoolboy. He's from Brisbane. It certainly doesn't seem he was on the radar for Qld Schoolboys in 2016.

Was wondering what Rebels were doing for Hooker depth if Siliva wasn't training. Good to see Aus U20 and Perth Spirit Hooker Malolo in the trial squad along with the Melbourne U20s and Harlequins Hooker Vailanu.

Building nice depth with Latunipulu and Ratu as healthy otions/future replacement options behind the likes of Fou & Shipperly

So this article just popped up on my google account.

Big Red has a brother who has been poached to AFL. ARU does not have the depth but lets athletes be poached by the AFL.

Take a deep breath and relax. Is it a problem because he's tall and athletic? That his brother is an on/off super rugby player? That he played rugby at high school?

Team named for the Brumbies clash. Pretty cool that Uelese gets his maiden start for the Rebels after already having packed down against the Springboks.

North has signed 17-year-old Tom Jeffries, who stands 202cm, as a category B rookie, with the Queenslander knocking back a contract with an Australian Super Rugby team and a rowing scholarship at America's Princeton University to pursue an AFL career.
http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-11-23/roos-pluck-ruck-prospect-from-rugby-union Nov 2016 article suggests he was on a super rugby team's radar, but take that for what it's worth given the source etc

It seems highly unlikely outside of maybe the Rebels inviting him to come down and train over a Summer or something.

If he didn't even play Qld Schoolboys it puts him a fair way off the radar of being a future pro.
