Just finished listening to the Rugby Pod, big Jim was stating Geoff Parling to the Rebels is a done deal. Anyone heard anything or is this purely speculation? Would be a great signing for us if they did, much needed and some quality at lock.

Nothing firm, just the rumour from the P&P article last week. Agree we could do with some experience in the second row.

That's an interesting choice. Not over the hill yet, but definitely on the downward spiral. Plus, with Exter reasonably entrenched in the top 4, he doesn't provide any immediate relief, what with the Semi finals being on the the 20th of May.

On the other hand, he'd be better to have than both Day and Retallick as an experienced head.

Yeh interesting one, i'd be surprised if Exeter released him early for the sake of squad depth etc However on the same point i'd be surprised if he wasn't signed with the intention of playing alot earlier than that, because once all players are back (despite how average they are) the rebels aren't actually short of locking options. Although Parling is clearly a class above the rest. Cummins and Parling would be a solid combo and offer some much needed sting in defense.

He's still talented enough that a different environment could set him alight. Or he could be a bust.

The Rebels do have a proud tradition of signing well-known ageing second rowers and then not playing them much, dating back to Hoani Macdonald.

He'd be a walk up start for the team.

If only Seany, Chibba and Smithy weren't out. The Rebels would have a nice forward pack

Smith
Hanson
Weekes
Parling
Cummins
Timani
McMahon
Mafi

With some good back row depth and some honest toilers at front and second row. Sadly those honest toilers are starting and with players not upto speed behind them.

I'd like to see a lock clear out to be honest.

Toolis and Jeffries are contracted so they can stay, but let Cummins, Retallick and Day go. Bring in Parling, Enever and a youngster, maybe Kellaway.

Surely Day gets a run over Cummins?

When are they all back?

Ok, since the wife has stolen the TV to watch godawful shit called "married at first sight", thought I'd do myself some investigate work.

Here's the picture in question, with some markup.

Two things stand out:

1. The beard/stubble. Standard forward caper. Could be Lorenzo, Chibba or pat.
2. A little hint of Tattoo poking out from the Jesery on the right arm.

Only one candidate for me - I give you, the people's champ:

Damn. I really like what Weekies has done for the club but I think Lomax is probably ready for minutes in 2018 and definitely in 2019. Oh well.
