Really?
I'd already prearranged to meet some friends there, what's so bad about it?

I'm staying in the CBD, so maybe turf bar then?

i might be am showing my bias, but it is full and i do mean full, really crowded, unsophisticated, uncouth, often a bit or more than a bit pissed groups on their big night out, "hens" parties, bucks turns, etc. for me not a pleasant atmosphere. i doubt there will be many rugby followers there.
its certainly not Casino Royale.

Turf Bar or a quick tram trip (No8) to the Botanical.

Melbournites, where's a good spot to watch the Bledisloe tonight?
I've heard the sports bar at crown casino should have it playing, is that a safe bet?

Turf Bar is good but will be full of bloody Kiwis.

Crown will have a big screen but it's a sink of human misery and the place in Melbourne you're most likely to get glassed by some rat on the town with his crew.

I'm watching at the Sporting Globe in Richmond. Haven't been there before but assume it'll have the cricket on the other screen to distract me if the ABs get a run on.

I'd be more optimistic about the rugby than the cricket tex

It will be a race to see which game finishes first.

Absolute nonsense. Lomu is the ultimate case study in that.

It's a tough one daz. Really shit situation for him, especially if he's been lead-on to an extent by the Wallaby coaching staff. There have been plenty worse Wallabies than him. He just seems to have always been caught in the middle. Hopefully he's still enjoying his rugby, would be a shame if he ended up embittered.

When Inman runs over someone PM me.

Botanical Hotel on Domain Road and the Imperial in the CBD are also good options. That way you avoid the unwashed masses like oztimmay at turf bar too!
Unwashed oztimmy was a great host for last nights games. Not sure how his kids slept through the match.

Very entertaining to watch the Wallabies with, recommend never sitting directly next to him at any game (including Rebels, lost count how many times his kicked the beer tray over in excitement)

Also convinced his oldest son into playing for Powerhouse instead of BH or Quins.

Former rebel Lalakai Foketi has left bayonne and is now playing for Bay of Plenty in the ITM cup...Can't believe no Australian club wanted him

Maybe wants to play for the country of birth?

I'm sure they did, wasn't he contracted to the Tahs and Rebels before he left?

He might not be eligible for Aus any more if he's not born here and he doesn't have any parents/grand parents born here.

That doesn't capture a player. If he is eligible via 3 years residency it has to be the last 3 years.

I thought there was some allowance for junior years in eligibility as well, like 5 years U18 or something rendered you eligible,

Not sure about that. I remember R Murphy (prop from the brumbies) spent ten years of his childhood in Australia but wasn't born here, represented Ireland in U20s went to the Brumbies and was told he was not eligible to play for Australia, he appealed I think and it was upheld.
