I don't want to see us replace an Aussie with another Kiwi, there's a few good hookers around.

If you're in the mood for something gutsy, put some trust into the ACT bloke and upgrade him to a full contract and draft Melbourne Lesa into the EPS.

If you're not, draft in Holmes or Tessman.

Unfortunately the ACT bloke is a newly arrived Kiwi

One from left field Huia Edmonds bring him home from Gloucester

a warm welcome to melbourne !
on another note i thought pauliasi manu had another very good game for auckland in the ITM final. scrummaged well against an AB, tackled aggressively, carried the ball and offloaded effectively. he will certainly be in contention for a starting spot IMO
any further news on the hooker replacement ?

I just want to see him fit and healthy playing more than 7 games. If after that his form is comparable with Beale, sure have a crack. He is a solid player at 10/12/15 and on the wings, his goal for 2013 should be game time, Wallaby jersey and Lions

Has the other hooker been sighted? Who are the EPS.

EPS has been.

RABODIRECT REBELS EXTENDED PLAYING SQUAD (EPS)
31. Trent Dyer (Sydney Uni Flanker with some Aus 7s, signed as a perspective 7 I think)
32. Tom English (Sydney Uni Winger with some Aus 7s I think)
33. Bryce Hegarty (Broncos U20s player)
34. Patrick Leafa (Hooker from Vikings but NZ before that, obviously has spent enough time in Aussie to qualify for EPS)
35. Jordy Reid (Openside from Manly but has played 6/8 at Shute Shield level)

Hopefully the Rebels do enough to warrant some appearances on Channel 7 news next year.

Then we might see some more of this.

Hope he goes well for the Rebels, but from the article it sounds like it's his only option and he'll be out of there as soon as can get a gig in NZ?
Yeah...doesnt sound that enthusiastic about playing for an Aussie franchise...we should be contracting players who are keen to be a Rebel!!
