A lot of teams this year, particularly the Aussies have been ignoring easy kickavle penalties early in favour of the scrum or line out.

It was drilled into me (admittedly in a weak Vic country league) that you always take them early when the defences are strong and chance your arm later if you need to or if the game is secure.

Has something in the rules changed to make it easier?
I can't say after rounds one and two that it has really worked.

I've never really rated Billy before this year. Admittedly I didn't see a lot of him out west except for the Rebels games and last year he had a couple of good moments. Was I being a bit harsh or has he really stepped up this year. He has really been really good.
