Sigh - the usual brainless comment from you. So if I criticise Phil Kearns as a commentator it means I am anti private school.

I don’t think much of Phil kearns or sbw as commentators and to me some of the best are in league with Peter sterling and Phil Gould. But that probably makes me anti union.

whatever dude...

Agree with Kellaway. We're not going to get better by shirking the All Blacks. Leave mediocrity to test match Rugby League.
That may be true for the team but is it better for the fans?

We had an awesome Super AU, then lost 22/25 in Super TT, we got excited about rugby again after France then got smashed in 3/3 Bledisloe matches and look how poor the crowd was to a double header with cheap tickets.

Maybe a better schedule that doesn't see us getting smashed every week would improve attendance.

so non super rugby players liek kerevi and cooper played really really well, makes u wonder if the raeosn why Australia has been doing bad before was because oz super rugby is just not that good....heck japan based players played better and quade is not even in the top division in japan..

I owe a huge apology to Rennie & Cooper. Genuinely was pulling my hair out at his call. Turns out Rennie knows more than I do. What a journey from Quade.
Yep nice to be wrong though (as I equally was). As we agreed needed better answers and yep found some tonight. One swallow does not make a summer but gees I hope we see us build on this.

It's quite clearly because our best players get offered more money to play elsewhere? This was and is obvious.

We shouldn't forget White giving us the opportunity. He was fabulous. And Tate also before injury.
I thought Tate put the team under a bit of pressure with his stalling. The hands on the ball at the base is taking the proverbial. One of the real blights on the game right now. Faf is bad too.
White looked sharp when he came on, but he may want to lose the angry pills. The histrionics of throwing the mouth guard and general mouthiness aren’t really necessary. Great contest at that last scrum. Should’ve been awarded a penalty anyway because of the Bok hooker and loosehead folding, for the second scrum in a row.

I think Sbw is awesome as a player but yeh sorry not a fan of him as media commentator. He has his L plates on as media commentator but struggles to get his sentences out and yes may get better. But no at this point not someone I enjoy as a media commentator as only so many bro comments I can take. knowledge of the game undeniable but ability to communicate not so good as a commentator at this point.
I think your focus on his ‘bro comments’ are more a reflection of what you’re hearing.

Last week he was dismissed - even on the panel - for his comments about how he thinks the Wallabies just lacked some confidence and belief. The female panelist, who also struggled to get some of her sentences out, and was praised on this forum, said she disagreed with him.

I’m sorry but who is more likely to know? Who has won multiple Super Rugby titles, RWCs, an NRL title, and played all over the world as a marquee name with some of the biggest names in either codes?

I love the fact that he refuses to change his persona, his style and the way he talks to appease or appeal to rugby snobbery.

My 12yr old son made this comment totally out-of-the-blue at half-time.

“I was gonna go in my room and watch some TikTok videos before the game but I heard Sonny Bill Williams so I sat down.”

There are more fans and viewers than just the tragics like us on forums.

Awesome win Wobs. It's been a couple of years but let's not forget SA teams don't like Qld. It's worth about 15 points ( 7 from them, 8 for us)

It will be interesting next week as they are usually better in the second week

My main concern from this game was efforts to clear outside of our 22 often relied on Tate’s box kicks...as opposed to feeding back to say a cooper or banks to make deeper downfield kicks. I still feel our exits whilst much better tonight still needs improving

I thought we were a chance this week on the basis of our good record against the Boks, especially at home, but it was more in hope than expectation. I'm very glad to see the boys fronted up and got the job done. Real character building stuff. If we win next week as well it might shut a few people up.

He's a halfback?

I don’t think it just about money.

I think it has a hell of a lot more to do with job satisfaction, work environment and the opportunities for development, legacy etc

The next 2yrs are going to be very interesting

And he wasn’t getting great distance, so definitely something to work on. A bit of kick protection for those box locks may have helped Tate a bit too…

Just on clearances, it was pretty telling that the Boks would rather have their 1st 5 standing extremely deep to clear the ball. I don’t think Rennie will want that.

End of the day there is wider audience and just because he does not appeal to me and others sure does not mean right given his profile for Stan to choose. But I am also allowed to express my view that not a fan. My bro comments can be misterpreted as I know what I meant by this but others don’t. To me (my opinion only) SBW relies on just playing the cooper love / matey thing to make up for the fact not comfortable in front of the camera as new to media (hey I would be frigging awe full in front of the camera but I am also not choosing to make a living from it).

Love Sbw as a player but yeh not yet as media commentator. But that may change as in fairness I thought he was a lot better tonight then last week! I think people play the small P card too readily as if I criticised Phil kearns no one comments but criticise sbw we get some grandstanders (not you as your comments were defending him on your views he adds value etc).

We know why he is on there because he is high profile footy player people look up to - I just hope his media skills improve to match this as we are not now watching him play footy but listening to his ability to commentate on it.
