Went past Ballymore today, was surprised to see the Reds doing some conditioning around lunchtime in the heat of the day. LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) was the only Wallaby besides Lynagh who was back, and a other few faces i didn’t recognise, possibly academy players.

Besides one young looking back in a knee brace there wasn’t much of a rehab squad, compared to the same time last year when i went and watched a few pre-season sessions there were considerably more.

Kingsley Uys is a massive lump of a lad for someone who should be at schoolies this week, a frame as big as any of the props in the team.

You would like the school leavers would sacrifice schoolies to get into preseason training.

Yes and no.

If they want to sacrifice schoolies, than absolutely - but for some it's still seen as a right of passage to spend time with your friends and celebrate the end of a fairly significant life milestone. Foregoing a week of partying at 18 isn't really going to significantly impact someone's career progression or development - and neither will a week on a beers put a significant handbrake on it. I'm very much in favour of clubs giving the individual the choice and then being in full support of whatever that choice is.

I agree…

But something tells me these guys(Pritchard & Uys) in particular aren’t where they are in terms of development because they ever prioritised partying over training, I’d guess they were both jumping at it to get involved.
