Not really convinced by Muller as a lock and I worry this means Uru is going to be stuck as the back up there. Not the end of the world but I'd be happier with a proper 3rd string lock.
Otherwise pretty happy with that squad, and a few of those development guys should be pushing for a chance at the top, especially with an injury or two.

Valid about Uru. To be honest he's probably in my starting team at 6 ahead of Brial anyway. Means Brial ad Bryant on the bench??? Dunno. Someone more to come perhaps.

Two injuries to our back 5 and our depth is seriously tested. We have 8 guys named for 7 positions (4 - 8 + 2 subs) in a match day 23.
Compare that to the backs; 5 options for the two centres and 6 for the back 3 positions + Ben and Flipio.
Recruitment failed us to replace the massive amount we've lost in the back 5 this year.

Yeah not sold on Muller either.. Lock is certainly a weak spot in 2026.
Happy to see Latu and Martens in the academy though. Bennet Armistesd and Taino Taka not listed in squad despite been previously announced as signings? Are they still at school or something in 2026

Im not too worried for backrow with Latu, Brosnan, Hough and Robinson all in the academy, just lock.

It is light, but at least as far as back row is concerned there is some very good talent in that development squad - Latu and Hough look ready as coverage with Robinson not too far off. Brosnan might get called up as a lock, but is probably still a year off. I think Ross might actually be bigger than him, but I think he's too young to be considered,
Based on some of the guys not named elsewhere I wouldn't mind if we picked Clem Halaholo up to round out that lock/backrow group.

Levi Slater too. All are just finishing school now. I'd suggest they will be part of the Academy program rather than the Wider Training Squad.

I think Pritchard, Ross and Uys are just further along than Slater, Armstead and Taka in their development. Armstead has been injured anyways, and Slater can take all the time in the world to develop with plenty of blokes ahead of him. His scrummaging still needs a bit of work. Plenty of coverage in the midfield atm so no need to rush Taka.

That'd be great, but their season runs the length of ours so it's probably unlikely. They do have 6 locks and few tall back rowers though, so it's not out of the question.
