Piss off. I'll take SBW all day every day. Everyone who works with SBW all say that he is a great guy to have in the team in every aspect. People don't like him because:
1. He walked out on his Canterbury Bulldogs contract.
2. He only signs 1yr contracts.
3. He boxes.
Only one of those things has any real legitimacy.
Sounds good, except he did have a manager, there were press reports of him being offered double this amount in the UK. So it's not like he signed a contract without the facts at his disposal. The Bulldogs signed SBW for 5 years for $400K a year. This was a ridiculously inadequate amount for a player of his talent and $200-300K less than other players of similar note.
Nasser took over as his manager and unsuccessfully tried to re-negotiate as the Dogs felt they had the upper hand. Nasser got SBW a $1.5mill deal in French rugby that increased to $2mill a year later. Court awarded Dogs $750K damages. Good business for SBW.
Morally Dogs still whinge, but have cut probably a 100 players since the time SBW left. Loyalty works both ways, but not really in pro sport these days. ARU should take a cursory glance at this matter, if they want to keep QC (Quade Cooper).
So how much shit is a player allowed to dish up for free as a factor of his "winning ratio"

Depending on how things play out with Cooper and the ARU, is there a chance that the Reds could pull of a coup and land SBW next year.
That would be a disaster for Australia, whatever you think of SBW, because there are at least 3 test candidates hanging around up there who we need to develop rather than having him as a marquee player clogging up a development channel. There's just this tiny small issue of money...

I should also add, if Quade leaves Rugby, it will be a shame. There is no doubt he has the ability and skills to excel for the Wallabies, but he really needs to check his attitude. Quade is nothing more than a pawn in a game being played out by people above his station. He would have and should have been better advised to keep out of the politics and concentrate on doing what he is paid to do, playing Rugby and being the best player he can be.
It is such a shame to see a talented young man potentially ruin a promising career, by allowing himself to be played like a fiddle.
Easily fixed.. just make an auction item at the Reds End of Season Ball the chance to be Quade's first boxing opponent..
Simple rules are that every generation is lazier and got it easier than the previous generations and that every new generation invents oral sex.
Fatprop I was never justifying what Quade said, which In turn I think many people are overreacting on.
I was purely pointing out that he isn't as useless as some people in this thread have claimed
