Palus career path
Jail- St george- Wallabies

Add in a few arrests for drink driving and without a license, Quade looks like a choir boy.

Cliffy Palu's crimes were much more serious than this.

Driving while suspended??

Tuqiri's crimes weren't even crimes...

Palu was arrested a few times for driving. I was referring to the six months in the clink.

If he assaulted a copper while under contract to the ARU his contract would be gone before the door slammed on the paddy wagon.

No doubt. I just don't think its the end for Cooper.

Actually Palu show exactly what is wrong with the rugby system (eg TuqiriGate) and leaguey with a detention history gets arrested twice and nothing. Tuqiri gets a root and gets sacked (or insert any disciplinary action).

Doesn't a charge of burglary need the property owner to press charges?

Not generally in Australia; I don't know Queensland law so they might be different.

But generally, once a complaint has been registered - which in this case is evidenced by police custody - the decision to prosecute is handled by the relevant authority (DPP for indictable offences and police for summary).

After having a quick look at QLD's Criminal Code, Burglary is handled as a indictable offence in QLD although there are provisions which afford it to be trialled summarily (which would attract a significantly lighter sentence) if the matter is not serious. If it is serious and if he is found guilty he's pretty much fucked as the punishments seem rather severe.

Hmmm, the "Break-and-Entertainer"?
:yay

QC (Quade Cooper) is now looking for a good QC (Quade Cooper)?
I can't imagine how he is going to slip out of this one.. He will have been drunk at the time or worse on drugs... the cops would have tested him for sure.. and he was likely thinking he didn't have to do a test for weeks and now was his time to get on it.

If he was 'under some sort of influence'.. then he really is as stupid as he looks.

From a quick read of the QLD criminal code there is an option for the prosecution (they MAY do this, not MUST) to have the matter trialled summarily if:

1) The crime was breaking and entering to steal and/or destroy property (as opposed to commit an assault or other offence)

2) While committing the offence he was unarmed or not pretending to be armed

3) The value of the property involved was not more than $1000

I think those are the provisions you're referring to.

Being Kiwi Born, could QC (Quade Cooper) get deported for this.. It would seem not, since there's a bunch of dodgy kiwis around Aus.. but in the US I'm a permanent resident and I can get deported for sniffing in the wrong direction.

ARU should set the precedent. Tear his contract up, tell him to fuck off for a year or 2, and he can return later on. Theft is not an Australian Rugby thing, its a league thing if he thinks he can pull shit like that then he should fuck off.

Without jumping to conclusions before the legal process, the ARU has no choice, should he be guilty. Since they sacked Lote for his indiscretion, which, as far as we can tell, was legal, then Quade must go. End of.
All that aside, a colossal waste of talent, just as he was starting to develop some of his potential.

Lote's was written into his contract wasn't it? Or was it simply 3rd strike and you are out?

THis is Quade's 2nd strike, at least.

I don't think its more about strikes this is a police matter, and its a pretty serious police matter. Quade seriously has to go whether or not he does as the QLD midfield could be in a bit of trouble.

jeez some people are quick to throw a few snide remarks about without actually knowing anything about what happened..

Seriously though, he has been charged but he hasnt been found guilty, which indicates so far that there is enough evidence to persue the case, but he isnt yet guilty.

For all we know it could have been some stupid gag or misunderstanding, until his found guilty i think some people should keep there shirts on and stop jumping to conclusions on something they know nothing about.
