There is a interview tomorrow night on Quade Coopers Parents about him, (channel 9 news)
In the short clip they mentioned they would have liked to see him as a All Black... And the Religious concerns being around S.B and The Man..

Thats if anyone is interested is seeing it...

Typical low kiwis, trying to sabotage Quade before the knock-out rounds by stabbing him in the back in media sensationalist style. His own parents. Just goes to show how terrified they are that the wallabies will take the cup.

Oh come on!

This is just balanced journalism.

After his gran got so much airplay supporting him they are just presenting an opposing point of view.

Fairs' fair.

I'll be checking that out, thanks for the heads up. After reading that piece in Good Weekend I actually turned a corner on him a bit (I originally thought he was a dick). Sounds like a pretty rough childhood, no wonder he gets a bit scrappy.

What was the Good Weekend article like? Sounds like an interesting read but can't seem to find it anywhere online.

I can't find it online, but basically it was about his family background. He spent the first couple of years in a women's shelter after his mum left his dad, then headed to australia after his step-dad (who seems like a nice guy) was laid off. They were shit-poor, then Quade gets picked up on a scholarship, and a year later he's earning more than his parents combined while he's still in year 12.

Seems to me adjustment issues would be part and parcel, really.

In looking for the Good Weekend article I did find this one: http://www.odt.co.nz/opinion/opinion/180443/quade-thingy-goes-deep-psyche ... it's about why new zealand has reacted so vehemently to him. I found it genuinely interesting, but maybe I need a life.

For curiosities sake does anyone know what ethnicity Quade is?

I would quite like to see this actually, hoping it will go up on ATT at some point.

The author, John Lapsley, referred to Genia as Cooper's Queenstown Reds team-mate.

Saw it, was enjoyingit until the question about do you wish he was wearing an AB jumper. No wonder these kids are a bit screwed up. Live in Aus, bring their kids up in Aus, their mates are Aus, their education is Aus but go the AB's!! Be proud of what colour their jumper is and leave it at that.

Not a bad interview at all, thanks for posting.

Could Quade actually play for NZ Maori btw?
