Harley Fox (GPS2 #8) put down a strong claim for a QLD jumper last night in the game against CSS. Was a standout with some very strong runs and pretty much everytime he got the ball he made plenty of metres

Not sure what game you watched, i saw him drop the ball at least 3 to 4 times and missed as many tackles and several resulted in tries, glad you only have a say on this forum and not in the selections.

I took down some notes for the game and saw Rodgers make 4 linebreaks (the most of any player on the day) and threaten with every touch.

Conditions weren't fantastic last night, cold and damp for every game. I noticed plenty of handling errors from all teams.

Today should be much better, we'll see if the drops and tackling improve in the dry.

My other standouts from Day 1 were Liam MacNamara, Calvin Pritchard, Gavin Luka, Alex Mafi, Joey Fittock, Hiale Roycroft, Tyrone Hussey, and Mitchell Schneider (lock for Chairmans).

EDIT: Forgot to mention Luke Peterson was an absolute monster. He and Gavin Luka were the two best scrummaging props of the day. Peterson got through a lot of work as well. He moves well for a big bloke

QLD School boys trials simply a joke, alot of players picked on rep and not on performance..

I am normally supportive of selectors. They pick a team they believe will do the best job executing the strategy. However, there are one or two selections there that are no way based on the trials held this weekend or games held in recent times. I am shaking my head. Rouge, I think you are spot on.

Based on the games I saw over the two days, think some of these selections had the jumper already in the cupboard at home and needn't have actually turned up.

Like you Dark Shark, I am normally very supportive, there are a number of players not named in the QLD squads that deserved a jersey based on form and not names.
I also shake my head in disbelief.
