I think Hynes is a legit Fullback option. I saw 20 seconds of him, in that trial match, and it was a huge run, bumping of 4or 5 defenders. Norton Knight would be a good option, maybe he goes Flyhalf, and Cooper at inside centre. It is too risky having Cooper at Flyhalf sometimes because you don't know when he will brain snap.

i dont really like SNK, but he would still be a great asset for the Reds, not only in maturity but in terms of depth, he provides genuine alternatives for the 5/8 and fullback positions.

SNK is proving for the Cardiff Blues, if proof was needed, that he should play fullback only.

He's played quite a bit at 10 when Sweeney was injured and once a commentator said: "They keep picking him at 10 but to be fair to him, he's really a fullback." No kidding - I wrote it down.

Then when Sweeney was healthy and Blair back from a long injury he was often on the bench - but because they play so many games over there and rest players more than here you'll see SNK playing flyhalf a bit more.

The same old problems - unerring skill at finding tacklers when having a snipe - ability to throw a long pass but not necessarily to the player with the main chance.

It said in the courier mail today that from the looks of training Horwill will be lining up at 6 against the tahs. wtf?

Horwill is an out and out lock - we were absolutely humiliated against the force in the opening exchanges, and I put this down to the fact that our backrow was unbalanced.

That same article hinted that it looked like Rod Davies had the jump on Luke Morahan for a wing berth.

You never know it may be a stroke of genius. I don't think so but I've been wrong before.

I think it could work against the Tah's as they don't have the most mobile backrow. It also adds options at lineout time. I just hope that the scrum goes ok.

And I'm not to keen on the SNK idea.

I think the lineout options will be handy when Fainga come on the field, every report of his trial form mentioned good line out throws

the biggest problem for me is not really the fact the Horwill is at 6, because he is a quality player. It is the run off effect that I am worried about - this means that we have two muppets in the second row in stead of 1, be it byrnes or van humpries. however, bynres is said to have put in a monstrous pre-season so lets not write him off too soon.

What I can't understand is if were doing it for the lineout, ezra is pretty tall anyway, very good lineout forward and offers much more around the paddock. and probably most important wont get sent off like satan (byrnes).

I admit I would play ezra as a 6 and have higginbum at 8 - because I would love to see that animal break off the back of the scrum.

Link must really not rate ezra.

None yet Marto let it slip on The Rugby Club. So it could be true.

I respect what they are trying to do with that show but I feel it is needlessly dumbed down.

I suppose there is no reason it wasn't true at the time but a whole plethora of things could of changed since then.

I enjoyed the show. And thought the new guys did well. I wouldn't have said it was dumbed down. But I can see that they are trying to appeal to more people and that's not a bad thing. When they think wearing a dress is funny then you can call it dumbed down.

as long as that they dont have a "crack the fat" type segment then im happy

Theres a lot less back slapping to it.
I like JP and Canno much better then Kearns and Clarke. Some Rugby Clubs in the past have been very painful

Nick McCardle is hosting and Jeremy Paul and brenden Canon were on the panel with Marto. Kaf and Kearnsy are still around I think

Nick McCardle and Cannon were OK, JP added little and Kafer was himself on the analysis thing, but not there for the panel.
I'll reserve judgement if it is an improvement till a few weeks have passed.
