Does anybody "know" which REDS players are off contract at end of 2010 and available for, dare i say, poaching by Melbourne and those likely to go south

Is there any restriction on Melbourne raping and doing what the Force did to QLD
I'm just presuming this, but I would think not many would be as they like to renew contracts until the end of 2011 as its a WC year.

Thanks - just had heard a large number were only contracted until end of 2010

I'm not too sure. But Mortlock's is, I'm not sure about anyone else. I know after last WC, a lot of people went off contract straight after. The leave of Larkham, Gregan, Latham, Gerrard. Others I'm sure. I just presumed it would be the trend for this WC.

i dont know which Reds are exactly off contract, i do know that there is a crap load of them though

and the only restriction that melbourne has in comparison to the force is i believe the ARU has made it a rule that you cant be signing players during the S14 season, the Force were signing QLD players halfway through the season, it really destabilised the team. Melbourne wont be able to do that, no doubt there will be some behind the scene shenanigans in trying to attract players though.

Not really a restriction, but more so a incentive not to poach from the other S14 teams is that the Melbourne side will be given special dispensation to sign a higher number of foreign players then what is currently allowed.

i saw Ed Quirk the other day, the guy is looking ripped, not sure if it was the Reds pre-season training or the 7's training whilst he was away with the Australian 7's side but his look pretty dam fit

What's the latest about the bloke with the shit haircut who enjoys the odd housebreak when the urge gets hold of him?

I hear that counseling is proceeding well, also to hear that he is really expressing the desire to play. Looking good for first round.

Is this a rule only for the new Melbourne team so they cant sign current players during the 2010 season?
Or does this apply to everyone? I think all Aussie teams should have to wait until seasons end before poaching players.

actually i think ive made a lier of myself, now thinking back i dont think this rule does exsist in the form that i mentioned, because Giteau signed with the Brumbies mid-season last year

Can anyone confirm if the QC (Quade Cooper) incident involved female or male 'international students' residence. Just heard a rumour (from a good source) as to what actually happened, and if it is a female students, then it makes sense.

I've also heard a rumour from a very good source, and if what I've heard is true, then he is pretty fucked and he must be incredibly stupid.

You'd think with the not guilty plee and he obviously did it, that something seedy and suss was going on.

ive also heard rumours from what could be considered a reliable source, at the end of the day a rumour is just a rumour

We'll surely find out in July when the court case is occurring. You would think even if the outcome is Not Guilty the ARU and QLD could dismiss him for bringing the game into disrepute. Because of the back story.

But as you said, rumour is a rumour. Very much looking forward to the Ballymore game.

Tranquility, I dont think its necessarily imperative that we need to turnover the players that quickly, whilst its probable that Hardman and Turinui will probably move on in 2011 i dont think its a requirement that they be out of the starting team by seasons end.

If those two players are the best in there positions at the time then they should remain starting until the end of the season, give the other blokes some time off the bench if required.

Guys I can't see Toua having an appearance in the starting line up. Hate to tell you, his time seems to be done and dusted.

previously i would have agreed with you chief, but when Noddy asked Link if they were going to sign a player to replace McLinden, Link replied by saying there are some exciting prospects in the academy like tapuai and toua who he would look at first.

"Looking at."

I can't see them developing further talent from those two as much as I hate to say it. All the hype around him faded, when they realised that he had the talent, but maybe not the motivation. His time passed as quickly as Nicholas Cage movie.
