Wish Seru Uru all the best at his next club. I do not hold any ill will.

He was instrumental for wests going to 3 straight GFs and arguably MVP of the 2022 win.

Dominic Thygesen the Lock who has come over from Souths is a good trade off for Uru going there

What do you mean poach back?

Seru had 4/5 years at Easts and left at end 2021 to head to Wests in 2022 where he has been aligned to until the switch to Souths.

Not the first bloke to jump ship from Wests to Souths - SSY, Troy Coker, but first I have known to play for 3 compass clubs

I hope Souths get a good return at allegedly $2,000 a game from a private donor.

As a bloke who has toiled all year in Prems for love of game & club - I don’t know how thrilled I’d be to pack down with a bloke who is getting $2,000 to run out in my club’s jersey.

I know we live in a different age but there is no loyalty in the modern player.

Easts got Suru out of Fiji and he turned his back on them after winning a premiership and now he’s done the same to Wests.

All the clubs love seeing guys (& girls) advance their careers play in Super Rugby, play abroad, etc but I just hate seeing guys switch clubs for what amounts to pocket money.

I don’t understand why De Lutus switched from Easts to Wests this year?

Seru Uru moved to Brisbane from Melbourne, claiming "Easts got Suru out of Fiji" is a pretty naive comment.

To be honest if anyone or any club is willing to fork out large amounts of money for a player or players it is none of my business - it just goes against the fabric of what I believe a community not for profit rugby club should be and just be careful about the impact it might have on your club’s culture and sustainability.
Back to Suru I just don’t think guys should get paid to play club rugby - get to next level whether that be Super Rugby, Japan, USA but play for the club you were affiliated with before you went professional as a sign of gratitude to that club.
Shoot me down - I know I’m old fashioned but really is $6k/$8k on top of your super contract really going to make a lot of difference after he pays his tax.
And yes he should declare it - he’s a professionally paid resident (income earnt in Australia) - pay your tax like the rest of us.
The Law firm paying him should be asking for his ABN.
I am hazarding a guess but I don’t recon a Thor, Wilson, McReight would send the Flith a bill for their services, nor Gill - Easts or Tate or Jock Campbell - Uni.
In fact in years gone by the QRU didn’t permit clubs to top up players contracts with payments from club land - even though we knew it was rife at some clubs.

As a your a Wests supporter..... the irony of these comments isn't lost

Also, your comments are nothing but speculation, claiming he is getting paid $2k is an unsubstaniated claim, but to then double down on that and claim he is committing tax fraud is pretty outrageous.

Wests have been hosting some of the Fijian Drua boys the last couple of seasons.

Will lose some players in coming weeks however. Whether that’s test rugby commitment, France/Japan &/or ITM cup commitments

if wests make the top 4/GF it will probably won’t feature a number of players from the past weekend
