I think you're missing the point a bit here. I'm talking about the connect between Q Cup and lower level BRL. The drop down is significant. A player playing top level footy for all of their life having to play in lower level suburban comp is a bit of a let down and would turn some people off. Im comparing the drop between Q cup and BRL and inferred that the lack of connect between these two teams (as they are their own clubs) would be unappealing to some.
I personally think Q CUP competition is fantastic, professional and way better run than rugby union. I'm not talking about that. Im talking about the big drop down.
Have another beer Jimmy, I mean BrianBig issues at the nest. The president was involved in a couple of heated discussions on the weekend with some of the old boys of the club. I witnessed this firsthand and it didn’t look good. Volunteers are leaving under his watch as it’s his way or the highway. The new merger has the whole committee full of junior parents who know bugger all about how a senior rugby program is run, but they were put there by the president because they won’t question him. Also there rumors going around there was some creative accounting when the merger was done involving grant money. Not a good look for a CPA.
Prem grade is in shambles with Hitler, I mean Dan Ritchie running the show. Constantly picks his favourite colts from 3 years ago and screams at the players. The 9 & 10 should be in 3rd grade as they are extremely predictable and boring. If the 9 isn’t box kicking every second time he touches the ball he is passing it to the 10 who does a rubbish kick straight down the middle of the field. The 12 should be back playing colts and is way out of his depth. Not his fault as they couldn’t recruit a better 12 because of the head coach.
Colts 1 are atrocious this season. They should be knocking on the door of the top four but they are second last. Bart Ritchie has switched off altogether and is surely looking for his next role. If they make Mills head coach of colts 1 next year god help them.
there is a simple fix get rid of
The president - culture and pride will return
Dan Ritchie - will attract better players and start winning consistently
Bart Ritchie - he will go when his brother leaves/gets sacked
only when these things happen will the nest become great again.
Sounds like his sons not getting selected or is a wests follower with a grudge.Have another beer Jimmy, I mean Brian
Wrong on both countsHave another beer Jimmy, I mean Brian
All that means nothing if results aren’t happening on the field.Sounds like his sons not getting selected or is a wests follower with a grudge.
I was there for 3 games Saturday and saw:
A friendly well run bar and canteens etc
A great vibe - very family and community focussed
A need to pay more attention to managing scoreboard and non Prems ball boys/girls - Prems kids were great
A Norths side I believe with no colts in runon prem team from 3years ago and whilst they had far inferior cattle have a crack and show some great running rugby
A Norths 2nd XV with heaps of colts from 3 years ago that beat the top of the table team
Agree their colts not performing to years gone bye
Go the local underdogs - keep building !!!
I’m not sure who that is but if he is related to Ollie then you’d think so.Is Eddie Harris still around Hugh Courtney Oval (aka Shaw Road)?
The results this year haven’t come close to the early season hype, which is a pity but clearly they were putting the cart before the horse.
