coming into finals, can someone enlighten me on the rules for players dropping down in grade to play in finals?

for example if a club has 1st grade miss out on finals, but 2nd grade make it....can you replace half of the 2nd grade team with 1st grade players? you must have to play a certain number of games for a team maybe?

There are a couple of a mechanisms in play depending on how many teams are still in finals etc.

But to dumb it down and answer your question - if someones 1st grade team doesn't make it or get knocked out, only players who've qualified for 2nds through minimum games played can play 2nds or players who have received dispensations due to injury.

Someone will no doubt post the specifics about it.

Brothers lineup got updated…

No Faessler, JOC (James O'Connor) (James O'Connor) or Fraser, wonder what happened there?

Rugby Australia just baiting and switching Brendan Garbett with a psyche/gotchya for his criticism of grassroots lol

Probably the three most likely to be on injury reserve for the Wallabies? Maybe getting chucked on a quick flight down to Melbourne

Going off purely on results this year.... i dont think thats going to happen.

Last week Easts 2nd grade beat wests 40-10.

When Easts played brothers at home, brothers beat them by something like 50 points.
Nah in round 9 - Bros (2nd) 41 def Easts 34

Yep Brothers 2nd grade have already secured the minor premiership I believe. They actually planned on resting some of their main players these next few games, but it'll be interesting to see who needs to compete for a spot if there are bulk players getting dropped from 1sts.
Both GPS & Easts 2nd grade will be hoping for a Wests (Rnd 17) & Easts (18) wins over Brothers and that GPS rather than Brothers make the top 4 in Premier grade.

Can Bond secure the minor premiership tomorrow at Yoku Road?
Currently the Premier grade table: Bond 59, Easts 57, Wests 54, Bros 48 and GPS 45, Souths 41.

They could win tomorrow without a bonus point and lose next week. If Wests jag 2 bonus points wins they could leapfrog Bond.

Kalani Thomas named to start at 9 for Auckland tomorrow Vs Northland. Hopefully a good move for him.
ASY (Angus Scott-Young) and Conor Vest have both done NPC “off seasons” over the past two years. Think it’s been positive for both of them, hopefully Kalani gets something from it and comes back a better player next year for the Reds. Fair bit of banter on here about him looking to move across the ditch, guess we will see in time….
