So good to see all the rep players playing some rugby this weekend in QPR. Must say the Red Heavies could change their name to the Reds Rebels with their team of 2022 contracted players. What a team!

Rebels - Kailea, Wallis, Ripley, Pincus, Jooste
Reds - Nasser, Zander, McDermott, Oates, Grealy, Campbell, Thomas

Is this the influence of Nick Stiles - these Rebels returning/landing at St Lucia?

The Pincus family's ties with UQ go well back , both Wallis and Ripley were playing at UQ before being contracted to the Rebels.

Kailea was playing at UQ when still in the Rebels' Academy , as in before Stiles' influence.

Never know might yet see Chibba back , he has been sighted at training ...... ;)

Wests have named a team with a couple of interesting changes in the backrow. I know that Max Johnson is an exciting prospect as an 18 year old but keen to see how he goes in senior football. He has been excellent in their colts team so great to see he gets rewarded for that.

meanwhile in NZ, the 2nd best halfback at each of their provinces plays NPC or is in an All blacks squad and Reds so called 2nd best 9 plays colts in Brisbane...hard to believe the Australian provinces don't match it with their NZ counterparts more often.
so what you are saying is we need a NPC type operation ??????

Haha nah I'm not annoyed...anymore!

Moreso pointing out to everyone who keeps saying 'all players who play Super Rugby are fine!'

When that clearly hasn't always been the case.
The Competition Rules for 2022 state all RA/QRU and RA Sevens contracted players are eligible, provided they meet the requirement to have been registered in QPR by 3 July 2022. This does not include players from Super Rugby teams (other than the Reds) who do not have a Rugby Australia contract. For example, if you are a Rebels player without a RA contract then you must meet all the normal eligibility rules - including meeting the minimum number of games requirement.

All I can say - What a mess? Surely there is a simpler way.
Gotta feel for the stalwart who plugs along all season then gets punted for a drop in at the request of the wallaby / super franchise coach

10.2 (1)
A player must have been properly seasonally registered with the club no later than Saturday 3rd of July. This specifically and strictly applies to Contracted Players. This includes being registered on Rugby Xplorer in that year of competition. Contracted players due not have to have played the minimum number of matches as per 10.2 (IV). Contracted players must be registered for a season registration and will not be considered eligible if they only register for a weekly registration.
